@timeshighered So the Conservative party destroyed the economy over the last decade, so this Conservative think tank comes up with an idea to smash one of the county's best export industries. Elitist clap trap.
@Zonal_Marking He should go and test himself at a club with no money in the Championship--the toughest league in the world. That will show everyone how good he is. He's always been at the clubs with the best players or most resources. Doubt he will though. International job or Italian team.
@StanCollymore You need three players to cover every position in case someone gets injured. Been playing in heat all season, scored loads of goals, scores pens, played in big competition before, so makes sense.
@nickpretnar@RobertJRElliott I'm not sure I agree with this, politicians do what they like and many/most of them have absolutely no interest in what economists advise them.
@jezc@UKLabour@BrumLeader@JaneRockHouse@birmingham_live They are not electing the next @BrumLeader. They are electing the leader of the Labour Party in Birmingham City council. It is possible that person may become the leader of the council but that is unknown and more likely to be a Green as they had more seats.
@DanielJHannan The reason why we are a mess is because of extremists like you. Just a reminder, it is possible to have higher taxes and higher growth....
@ChrisHammer180 Captains would have to strategically choose players who go together and who play's first - would be important if the score is 2-2. Right hand left hand combinations. As well as the order of players selected. Trophy needs to be iconic-John Virgo trophy?Played home and away each yr
@afneil You pushed the austerity agenda and blamed the Labour party for the GFC almost every day on "This Week" etc. so you had a role to play as well.
@afneil You were at the forefront of the austerity debate-spending your time pinning the GFc on the Labour government. That's what led to Brexit, and I very much doubt you have any understanding of the studies that have looked at the economic effects, given your basic grasp of economics.
@RealDonKeith Denmark has significantly higher taxes than us, and a higher growth rate. So this view is just simply wrong. Obviously if you have high taxes on particular types of tax his argument may have some credibility. It is far more nuanced than his simplistic story.
So a club can sell its hotel to itself, sell its women’s team to itself, but West Brom are punished, they believe, for legitimate “in-kind” donations to the Albion Foundation, its charity partner that saves lives. Albion also believe the alleged PSR breach is “less than £2m”
@IB_Prof_Aston@JPercyTelegraph@KieranMaguire @chrislepkowski @GoldbergRadio Did the Albion allow 50% of accounting time to be booked to the charity, which was okay previously but EFL have deemed it should only be 25%?
This is the detail we don’t know and hopefully comes out soon.
@JPercyTelegraph The question is, did Albion charge money to the charity to improve its accounts, or did the rules change, such that they could no longer use the charity as a device to artificially alter their losses. Thoughts @KieranMaguire ? @chrislepkowski @BearwoodBloke@GoldbergRadio
@henrywinter@FootyBoardroom The shape of this distribution simply has to change. If it doesn't, the IFR will have failed. Which is highly likely, as the government will see the @premierleague as a strategic asset for the country, and anything that goes against that interest, will be lobbied away.
@henrywinter It's pretty simple, there are 20 prem teams. They buy the best players in the world. There is no time to develop a player in that position, and most teams play with 1 player up front. The Number 9 position is now akin to the goalkeeper position.🤞He doesn't get injured.
