IBA strives to bring together institutions both academic and non-academic to build a collaborative community in the pursuit of advancing biomathematics, ecology, and related areas for the researchers, educators of the mathematical and biological sciences, and active scholars.
The IBA grants fellowship awards to outstanding scholars who have made significant contributions to the field of mathematical biology. The Distinguished Senior Fellowship is granted on even-numbered years, and the Excellence in Research Award is granted on odd-numbered years.
IBA was created in 2014 by @IllinoisStateU to address diminishing resources among higher education. State-recognized as the ‘Center for Collaborative Studies’ in 2017, IBA continues to expand and serve as a model to foster collaboration for other fields of mathematics.
