🇲🇦🇿🇦 Morocco just took Africa's industrial crown, and South Africa lost it quietly.
For the first time since 2010, Morocco has overtaken South Africa as the continent's most industrialized nation. The margin is razor thin, 0.8415 to 0.8396, but the shift is real.
Morocco didn't get here by luck. It moved away from phosphates and car exports, diversified its industrial base, built a serious aeronautics sector, and turned Tanger Med into Africa's busiest port.
South Africa went the other way. Years of economic turmoil and declining competitiveness finally showed up in the rankings.
The AfDB called Africa's industrial shift "silent but irreversible." 14 years at the top and South Africa didn't see it coming.

Sorry, but the fixation on Israel and Jews isn't a Moroccan thing. Israel never hurt Morocco or mobilized proxies on Morocco's borders. Israel never weaponized Moroccan Jews to go after the country or build militias. Israel, in fact, is right now helping the country revive its old heritage and industries, which have been suppressed due to panarabist ideologies that are against everything Morocco stands for, and Morocco has a long Judeo-Islamic tradition that makes these positions just anti-Moroccan. The only instrumentalization I see from repairing synagogues will come from terrorists or intolerant groups.
BREAKING: The US has agreed to 'release Iranian frozen assets held in Qatar and other foreign banks' and this is 'directly linked to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz', according to Reuters report.
BREAKING: Iran’s Speaker of the Parliament provides trading advice to investors trading US markets:
“Pre-market so-called ‘news’ or ‘Truth’ is often just a setup for profit-taking. Basically, it is a reverse indicator. Do the opposite: If they pump it, short it. If they dump it, go long. See something tomorrow? You know the drill.”
This, from Bloomberg, is not good news for a market segment that is already challenged to separate signal from noise, let alone properly differentiate among funds/firms in this space.
