Any man who disputes with his relatives because of his wife has no goodness in him.

Hasan Al-Basrī (رحمه الله) said:
Verily, a man would be pricked by a thorn and say: “I know that you are due to a sin [I committed], and my Lord did not wrong me!”

Al-Fuḍayl ibn ʻIyāḍ (رحمه الله) said:
“There are two qualities that harden the heart; frequent speech and a lot of eating!”

Hudhayfah ibn Al-Yamān (رضي الله عنه) said:
“Everything Allāh creates starts small and then grows, except the calamity, for He created it big and then made it smaller!”

Yūsuf ibn Asbāt رحمه الله said:
“The hearts were created as abodes for remembrance, but they became abodes for desires!”
