A really interesting session this morning, run by our colleagues at TWGFCAS and featuring ReBUILD members @FouadFouad61@IBouOrm and @mpbertone.
'Displaced populations and health systems' discussed the policy and practice of health system integration and included a specially-commissioned film featuring refugees, health workers and local-level policy makers talking about their experience of health system integration (watch it here https://t.co/XTcnmz8L5I).
The big message that came out was that while financing is important (with several streams mentioned), politics is more important - how people are badged, how resources are targeted, what/who people are encouraged to care about etc. It was a good discussion and there's a blog post to follow.
Thanks to everyone who came to our #HSR2024 satellite session today - Principles and practices of health systems strengthening in fragile settings: conceptual reflections and operational perspectives.
The presentations were fascinating and provided a strong basis for the photovoice discussion that followed - everyone was obviously really engaged and together we made lots of good points which we'll be collating and circulating. See you tomorrow!
