I think people on both sides of the Slayyyter debate have valid points, and no one (especially not a Black person) is required to forgive. But the “we don’t know what she’s thinking, she could still be racist in her mind” argument is asinine. What are we? The Thought Police?
i wasn’t a swiftie back then but it must’ve been so gaggy for swifties to press play on red for the first time on this day 14 years ago and getting hit with that state of grace intro
Real talk. If we both agree that people fundamentally cannot change their beliefs or be better human beings, then what is the point of fighting for equality and what do we do to these people when we are in positions of power since it’s been foregone that they cannot change?
Not saying u have to be friends or even like ex bigots, but it's hypocritical that we argue that we live in patriarchal, white supremacist societies and still act shocked that the average person had to unlearn any bigotry.
why do you guys want people to stay the same person with the same belief they had as a teenager for the rest of their life. Also, I keep seeing people talk about "oh i hope _____ has a racist/homophobic past so i can cancel them/so my hate is justified." you guys are weird asf
