Sunday Homily - "Remember" and "Do Not Forget"
If we celebrate Mass each Sunday, why then do we need a special day to commemorate the Body and Blood of Christ? We keep this solemn feast, this anniversary, this celebration to help us "remember."

June 6 Scripture
Jesus noticed the large sums the rich put into the treasury, but it was the poor widow's contribution that caught his eye (Mk 12:43). Jesus knew widows were exploited (12:40). Yet, this woman gave her all. Jesus' notice of otherwise ignored people is precious.
June 4 Scripture
If we deny him, he will deny us" (2 Tim 2:12b) does not mean God will deny us if we deny God, for God remains faithful even if we are not faithful (2:13). Rather it means that denying Christ makes the salvation Christ brought unreachable by fact of the denial.
June 3 Scripture
The hypothetical case of the seven brothers who married one woman (Mk 12:18-27) tells us that the life God has in store for us in eternity is beyond our wildest imagination. All we need to know is that "God is not God of the dead but of the living."
June 2 Scripture
Jesus may be the first person to suggest separation of State and religion. Perhaps "Repay Caesar what belong to Caesar and God what belongs to God" (Mk 12:17) was his way of keeping the radicalness of his religious movement intact. No wonder they eliminated him.
June 1 Scripture
"Make every effort to supplement your:
faith with virtue,
virtue with knowledge,
knowledge with self-control,
self-control with endurance,
endurance with devotion,
devotion with mutual affection,
mutual affection with love." (2 Pet 1:5-7)

Sunday Homily - "Like Trinity, Like Humanity"
“Jesus, the Son of God, enters our history and takes on human flesh, bringing with him the love that unites him to the Father and the Holy Spirit. In him, the mystery of humanity truly becomes clear.” - Leo XIV

May 30 Scripture
Jude's letter is altogether 1 ch. He is not the apostle Jude but the Judas & James called Jesus' brothers in Mt 13:55. He introduces himself as, "Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and brother of James" (Jude1:1). Bottomline, all that matters is the gospel you preach.
May 29 Scripture
-Be serious and sober-minded
-Pray
-Let your love for one another be intense
-Be hospitable
-Use your gifts for service (1 Pet 4:7-13).
In the gospel Jesus curses an out-of-season fig tree (Mk 11:14) . The point is that a disciple must bear ☝️fruits at all times.
May 28 Scripture
"Once you were no people
but now you are God’s people;
you had not received mercy
but now you have received mercy" (1 Pet 2:10).
So, live and act accordingly.
May 27 Scripture
James and John's "Teacher we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you" reveals crass human egocentrism & greediness (Mk 10:35). It was asked of Jesus whose life epitomized total self-giving. He teaches that discipleship is a radical shift from self to other.
May 26 Scripture
Peter repeats the call of Leviticus 11:44 in saying, "Be holy because I am holy" (1 Pet 1:16). Among all of our pursuits, to "be holy" is the most honorable one. Holiness consists in offering ourselves selflessly for the sake of God's kingdom (Mk 10:28-31).
May 25 - Memorial of Mary, the Mother of the Church
The readings compare our first parents who hid from God out of fear (Gen 3:9-20) and Mary who fearlessly stood with her Son at the cross (Jn 19: 25-34). Life may defy expectations but don't hide from God. Rather, let God be God.
Sunday Homily - "A Pentecost Prayer"
Pentecost was the beginning of a revolution, a recreation of a wounded world. I love that which Pentecost stands for – mutual understanding, peace, and harmony.
