Throughout my career, I've been dismayed by the contempt some genre executives have held for fans, routinely underestimating their power to make or break a show. I've watched this repeat too many times, across too many shows, to be talking about any single one of them. Yet despite the mounting evidence over the past few years, they continue to dismiss the data, repeating the same miscalculations time and again.
But technology has rewritten the rules, and the power dynamics are shifting. Today’s fans are organized, strategic, and highly data-literate - effectively turning the platforms' own metrics against them.
As the bets get bigger and the audience grows sharper, it will be fascinating to see how this plays out.
Dr. Jackson is hands down the best character from the Stargate universe. @MichaelShanks is genuinely my favorite actor from the shows as well, when his character "died", Season 5 Episode 21 > "Meridian", I was absolutely devastated. Watching Michael on screen always had me tuned in and immersed, so when Daniel Jackson died on that operating table, I was so angry! How could the show runners remove the best actor and character. I wasn't able to enjoy season 6 as much, Jonas was fantastic and I admired his character, but it just wasn't the same without Michael Shanks... The team dynamic wasn't as good either.
But when Season 7 arrived, it was such an exciting experience! I was indescribably happy and couldn't wait to see Dr. Jackson's arc!!!! 😁 Having Michael back and getting to watch his awesome performances again was such a delight, Stargate was back with the OG team. I cannot imagine the last 3 seasons without Michael Shanks as Daniel Jackson! Some of the best adventures were in the later seasons, with Dr. Jackson's search to understand the Ancients and locate their technology!
The fact Michael freely interacts with fans and is leading an effort to save the new "unadulterated" Stargate show, is absolutely amazing!!! What an incredible guy, I honestly have my hopes up because of this and think it's so cool he's fighting the good fight. This situation with @AmazonMGMStudio is like when Dr. Daniel Jackson was killed off, he ended up coming back! I'm going to remain optimistic, let's make this happen folks! Thank you so much @MichaelShanks for fighting to save Stargate, it's so awesome of you and us fans truly appreciate it man. More than you know 🙂. #savestargate
Okay, so I was a little 50-50 on the cancellation of the new #Stargate series. I was already cautiously optimistic when they first announced that they were bringing Stargate back because nothing any of these Hollywood Studios do, fills me with any sort of confidence that they can do these IP’s any sort of justice.
But I was also excited mainly because Martin, Brad and Joe were involved, in fact, to be honest that was probably the only reason for any of my excitement!
The fact that @amazon have cancelled this because it’s too “stargate,” it’s too “niche,” is RIDICULOUS! And now I hear that they still want to do something with Stargate, but not with the people that understand the universe and proven creators of this franchise.
That tells me that the next Stargate show won’t be for Stargate fans and that Amazon are looking to hire activists to create their new Stargate universe! (and yes, I say universe because it won’t be the same “Stargate”)
Unless you save this series with the people that have already spent 20+ weeks in the writers room, you’ll destroyed the future of this franchise FOREVER with your pre-existing fan base!
You now only have two options,
1. Save this series and reinstate the people working on this project.
2. Don’t EVER touch this franchise again. Leave it be!!!
That’s it! Make your choice @AmazonMGMStudio@PrimeVideo
No one is going to allow you to do to Stargate what Disney has done to Star Wars, what Kurtzman has done to Star Trek or what the Russell T. Davies has done to Dr Who!
LET THE PEOPLE THAT LOVE STARGATE MAKE STARGATE!!!

It's ESG stakeholder capitalism, profit is no longer the main driver. Leftwing Authoritarianism in a way, not socialism but not Liberalism either. I highly recommend you look into ESG, stakeholder capitalism (not actual capitalism at all), and DEI. Hollywood and entertainment in general adopted the ESG and DEI system harder and sooner than anyone else. Imagine hedge companies who own shares in every single public major corporation, using shares to pressure those companies to adopt ESG (climate justice and sustainablity activism, DEI activism, social justice activism, and much more), make it pay of your company culture and structure but also your product! Basically, banks and lenders + hedge companies like Blackrock + NGO's + World Economic Forum succeeded in subverting every major company and Institution in the west to adopt leftwing ideologies but using an international clique of powerhouse institutions, this is leftwing authoritarianism and internationalism in action and it's a whole new system entirely. The stakeholder capitalism is no longer about profit, it's about forcing the ESG progressive ideology (prominent progressive figures promote and support it entirely. This has been affecting the western world for almost 2 decades. It's why entertainment became what people call "woke".
Many popular leftwing figures and progressive activists support ESG and internationalism, but most don't know how it actually works and why they are basically supporting global authoritarianism, ESG is only a part of it. It's one finger of the international cooperation, UN agenda 2030 is another part for example. Anyways, things like over promotion of LGBT in all forms of entertainment media is directly the result of top down ESG policy, that's a fact. So much of our culture and entertainment promote inorganic ideas inorganically due to the ESG pyramid. Note, there are leftwing people who are against this bit it's a small amount sadly because the SJ aspect distracts them from the whole picture. Steak holder capitalism doesn't work because profit isn't the driver, the practice and promotion of the activist is the priority, that's why Disney screwed up Star Wars, why Wheel of Time is DEI garbage, why 2016 Ghostbusters even happened, why lgbt trans ideology is forced into kids shows and teen shows all over Netflix.
Capitalism is the 2 indie horror movies that came out recently, that are killing it at the ticket booth (Backrooms and Obsessed).
top down.
It's well known the forumala of making entertainment with leftwing activism built into the product is a complete failure financially. If profit was the actual driver and traditional motive like it was in pre 2009 (DEI and equity started earlier than people think, like advertising in 2005), you get content people want like Indiana Jones and the ARK of the Covenant, SNEAKERS, Top Gun, The Patriot, Sopranos, Stargate SG1, Farscape, X files, The Departed, the Prestige, Tremors, Close Encounters, Jurassic Park OG, etc... Today people tolerate most entertainment, watching what's OK in many cases, because most of it is politically charged and subverted or has incompetent people working on IP's. There are great modern IPs still, like Dune or the first 4 seasons of Game of Thrones (the show runners made a deal with HBO before ESG picked up). GOT was protected for the most part by GRRM being involved. Wheel of Time is a great example of DEI casting and crew, it looks awful and sadly the Witcher suffers the same fate, it doesn't work. Dune is pretty decent too but there was DEI thrown in, can't be nominated for an Oscar if DEI isn't practiced, Dune went with min requirements lol. The Academy was also a victim of ESG. To conclude, the industry has degraded significantly because of the awful ESG system pushed on major companies and institutions, Hollywood and all major streaming platforms are included in that. So we've been experiencing progressive activism in our entertainment and advertising because of the leftwing ESG push, forcing companies to fold to continue various financial services, and because profit no longer sits in the driver seat but rather the front passenger seat. Under normal market forces, you'd see better products entirely, but ESG breaks the standard of (make better products than competitors to earn a substantial profit), it instead has influenced major institutions and companies, tearing down structure and replacing it but no longer through meritocracy, but by equity and inclusion. ESG artificially subverted our culture through all major media companies and sports leagues (pride flags and lgbt messaging everywhere, and much more). The leftwing bias and SJ politics that's infested entertainment and our culture the last 16+ years, has been due to a top down initiative from the most powerful financial institutions, international Organizations, and NGO's. This is why LGBT over promotion and other DEI have been seen at all levels of our institutions and companies.
@Rajdeep_Luthra@AnActorExplains@cosmicbooknews Bottom line, people don't want garbage leftwing activism in entertainment media nor have it be the driving force for hiring terrible people to work on projects with progressive slop being their focus.
No Stargate is better than woke garbage Stargate that would get canceled anyway because no one wants unpopular ideological activism vs great writing and world building. The original creators wanted to avoid the trend of activist slop that fails every time and go with respecting the original formula.
My ENTIRE feed is Stargate fans calling out @amazon@AmazonMGMStudio
I LOVE IT! The fans are amazing. 🥹Amazon was WRONG! They made a MISTAKE by discounting Stargate fans.
Keep telling Amazon how you feel and be sure to tag them! RT your fellow fans.
#stargate#savestargate
I’m gonna simply say this: if you are at all interested in a Stargate show with ANY of the original creators/performers involved, now is the time to say something. Otherwise it really will be the end of that chapter forever. Let them know you are THERE
“Don’t you dare make a show that appeals to an already existent fan base and build it even bigger and make us money!”
- Amazon 2026 (Probably)
Yes, I’m bitter.
Here is my attempt. Doubt it will go anywhere but here goes.
@elonmusk buy the Stargate franchise and give it to @BaronDestructo@bradtravelers & Mr. Gero.
#Amazon will not give the fans what they want. Buy it from them and give it to the original crew that made it what it is.
I doubt this will get any traction but, what the hell.
