Do you know what God’s plan really looks like? Read Saurabh Dubey’s story.

In 2019, Saurabh Dubey was picked for the Emerging Asia Cup squad, but didn’t get a single game. Then for the next 3 years, he completely disappeared from the setup.

In 2021, he finally got a chance to play the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Vidarbha, but only featured in 3 matches. After that, he kept trying everywhere, Vidarbha Pro T20 League, SMAT 2023, UP T20 2023 but nowhere could he cement his place.

In IPL 2022, Sunrisers Hyderabad picked him in the squad, but released him in 2023 without giving him even one match. After 2023, he didn’t play a single game for Vidarbha either. His career looked almost finished. Things got so bad that out of frustration, Saurabh even started playing local tennis-ball tournaments in Wardha.

Then came 2026. KKR called him as a net bowler, but even in the auction, he went unsold. That felt like the end of the story.

But destiny had other plans.

Akash Deep got injured, and Saurabh Dubey received the replacement call. He finally got his opportunity… and everything changed from there.

Against RCB, he impressed even Virat Kohli with his bowling. Against GT, he bowled the 19th over under pressure, gave away just 5 runs, took a wicket, and won the match for KKR.

And then against Mumbai Indians, he picked up the wickets of Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav, the same Mumbai Indians franchise where he once worked only as a net bowler.

That’s God’s plan. Delayed. Brutal. Unpredictable. But sometimes, worth the wait. 🙌
