Trying out Grok build and I'm really impressed. I have never coded a day in my life except when I began learning how to create a simple website before I switched to drag and drop WordPress. I used jot form to create a little app once. But that's it. I'm a complete beginner, I didn't know what a terminal was for the most part. I'm a little blown away now that you are basically only limited by what you can think of or imagine creating with this technology. And suddenly I feel curious and a little guarded (and oddly embarrassed?) about my own level of comprehension as to what those limits are.
Basic income jobs are low pay + long hours. They are what many people do to make ends meet, not because they feel said job meets their purpose. Losing it would mean losing basic income, not purpose.
In other words, no, people will not just get happy from being handed “free cash” but then afterwards remember they are jobless and get depressed. Most people in their right mind would understand the situation and use it to pay bills while they put themselves to work and shift their trajectory however they need to. UBI would afford them an opportunity to do that.
“A free pro tier version of ChatGPT for every citizen would be WAY more productive and fulfilling for a majority of society than a free check”.... Fine, but why not do that now then, so people can learn how to use it before free checks are even a discussion.
Of course that’s assuming people do lose their jobs in the future which doesn’t seem to be the consensus anymore. Frankly I’d rather create and get good now than end up shining robot shoes in the future, so I’m actually optimistic.
You have a zero-sum mentality.
You think 'earning' $1 billion is "impossible" because you cannot conceptualize how the economy works.
The economy works by bringing the future forward. The future is infinite. Therefore, the economy is much closer to infinity than it is zero sum.
Try telling someone from 1,000 years ago that millionaires would exist, most people in America would own a magical square in their pocket that has access to all of humanity's information, and they can drive a metal box that will take them thousands of miles away, or ride in a tube that will fly through the sky while they watch a movie on their magical square device.
Your entire premise lacks imagination, which is not surprising from someone who makes a living leeching off of the taxpayer by misleading low-info voters.
@sevenfootrabbit@MarioNawfal Idk who's assuming, I'm just saying wherever this restaurant is... this type of hype is American customer service they go very extra
