Today, I was a special guest/ Guest Speaker at two Secondary school graduation ceremonies in Rivers and Anambra states.

First was a long-standing graduation invitation from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at Bishop Okoye Spiritan Secondary School. It was a truly inspiring experience engaging with the bright and determined students. I was also very impressed to see that the students were champions of the recent Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) exams. I encouraged them that, through education, they cannot only develop their country but also take over the world.

Thereafter, I travelled to Obosi, Anambra State, where I attended the graduation ceremony of Divine Rays British School.

In Obosi, I encouraged the students to stay focused and never stop believing in their dreams, no matter how big they may seem, and that their background should not define their future, because with hard work, integrity, and faith, they can become leaders who transform Nigeria.

To the exceptional staff and students, thank you for the warm welcome and the opportunity to share in your journey.

One of the consistent principles of leadership is the willingness to make ultimate sacrifices and take risks. A true leader does not make excuses or complain; he shows up, sacrifices, and provides solutions, especially in difficult times.

While I do not advocate for our President to expose himself to monumental risks, I cannot accept the excuse that bad roads prevented him from reaching Yelwata in Benue State—especially after he had already made it to the state. This visit happened days after the massacre, with enough time to plan appropriately.

But let’s ask the fundamental question: Who is responsible for fixing the roads if not state and the federal governments? If the Commander-in-Chief cannot reach a part of his own country due to bad roads, what hope is there for the ordinary Nigerian who plies those same routes every day?

Leadership is not about comfort; it is about sacrifice. It is about standing with your people, especially in moments of pain and tragedy. You cannot abandon your citizens in their hour of need. You don’t offer excuses when action is required.

Even if we accept that the roads were truly impassable—which they are not, as presidential aides and staff managed to navigate them—what happened to the use of helicopters? Are we saying a nation that boasts of a presidential air fleet could not airlift the President to Yelwata to condole with grieving citizens?

The people of Benue did not need protocol or explanations. They needed empathy. They needed presence. The roads may be bad, but what is worse is the institutional neglect that brought us to this point.

A New Nigeria cannot—and will not—be built on excuses. It will be built on the sacrifices, courage, and responsibility of true leaders.

A New Nigeria is POssible.

It is funny how those who claim to have fought for democracy are the ones actively suppressing it today. If democracy hasn’t collapsed, why is Nigeria’s judiciary under siege? Why are opposition parties being silenced with puppeteer endless legal battles? Why is press freedom under attack? Why are peaceful protesters being arrested? Tinubu’s government is not just redefining democracy, it is systematically dismantling it.
Just like Peter Obi said, we need to rebuild our democracy.

Peter Obi understands democracy better than the govt you support, they grabbed power through rigged elections and judicial manipulation.

Bwala, you are talking about “buying and selling”, who was buying and selling NARCOTICS in Chicago when others were building the reputation of Nigeria and its democracy?

If Peter Obi’s success as a businessman disqualifies him, what does Tinubu’s documented past in drug trafficking and EVIDENT forgery say about him?

Democratic activism is not just about exile stories and empty rhetoric. Peter Obi demonstrated his commitment to democracy through good governance. He didn’t loot Anambra State or request monthly billions as stipends after his tenure, he didn’t use thugs to silence opposition.
Meanwhile, Tinubu’s brand of democracy is nepotism, cronyism, under bridge thuggery”ism” and political violence.

The APC’s entire campaign strategy is built on ethnic and religious division. Where is the democracy? Who spread the “Emi Lokan” entitlement rhetoric? Who used MC Oluomo’s thugs to attack voters in Lagos? If you want to talk about hate speech, look no further than your own camp Mr. Bwala.

When Tinubu was distributing Narcotic democracy, Peter Obi was legally running several businesses that has continuously increased the GNP and GDP of Nigeria.

If Tinubu truly fought for democracy, we would see its impact in Nigeria today. Instead, we are witnessing media crackdowns, journalists suppression, judicial compromise, economic collapse, state capture and brutal suppression of opposition.
Tinubu can NEVER be in the democratic class of Peter Obi. He should sit down and take notes from Peter Obi.
