@CollinRugg Wow, a high school history teacher rambling on for almost 3 full minutes with no substantive point made. And 564k views! It's no wonder our students are so superficially "educated."
I don't think markets regain any stability until Trump & Xi settle tariff negotiations.
I also don't think most people truly grasp the existential nature of the negotiations.
China's trend has been clear. They've been gaining steam for decades thanks to globalization. They've become a superpower. They have the ability to manufacture at mass scale across almost any industry. They have 4x the population of the US.
Yes - they have massive problems. But their rise to prominence is undeniable. And it's mainly because their population is extremely hard working, talented, and proud.
They are also ruled by a dictator that can point the country towards a 20 year strategic vision. This is a huge bonus vs the US, especially given how divided we've been.
While the US has been infighting, China has been surging. Our lack of unity has allowed China to grow nearly unabated, at the US's expense.
The unfortunate reality is the growth in China relative to the US has been somewhat zero-sum. America's heart land was sacrificed in order for China to rise. The top 1/3rd definitely benefited from globalism, but the bottom 2/3rds didn't.
Worse - the bottom 50% actively went backwards due to a widening wage gap, reduced purchasing power, and poorer health outcomes.
So while the rich got richer, the poor got poorer, and those that previously could survive on a modest income and middle class life now require multiple jobs in order to have anything similar to what middle America was used to.
America has been getting worse, while China has been getting better. This is the bitter reality. Fast forward enough into the future, and the results are obvious.
And so instead of waiting for the inevitable, Trump appears to have accelerated the timeline forward to today.
You can disagree with the approach, the brutality, and the emergency behind the move, but this is the reality.
Instead of waiting for the US to lose even more power and capability relative to China, he has paused the global economy so that those discussions on what the new world will look like can be had today.
The reality now is too much of the supply chain is disrupted. China exports roughly $3.5 trillion per year. Anywhere between $500 to $1 trillion of that flows to the US.
Almost all of it will is impacted due to the prohibitive costs of the supply. No one's going to buy things that are now 125% more expensive just because the US said so.
And so now it's a waiting game between Trump and Xi on what they each think the world should look like. What does the US have that China doesn't, and how can China benefit from that thing? And vice versa.
How will Russia play into that? Israel? Iran? Ukraine? Africa? South America? Europe?
My guess is this is exactly what's happening now. Trump is trying to rewrite the New World Order today, instead of allowing the New World Order to be rewritten without him.
This is going to take a ridiculous amount of work, back and forth, and most importantly - uncertainty.
A world where China comes out ahead is VASTLY different from the world we have today. Same thing can be said about a world where the US is no longer in decline.
I think too many of us were either oblivious of the direction of the global order or the time that was left before we had to face the music. Maybe China invading Taiwan was the thing that would finally force the world to come to a reckoning.
It seems as if Trump wants to have that discussion on his terms.
Excellent summary of the lawfare case against @realDonaldTrump that was just crushed by the NY Appellate.
Incredibly sensible questions by appellate judges had me in stitches ๐คฃ๐คฃ

@Acyn@mcuban you are embarrassing yourself. I used to respect your intellect, but these days it's just empty. Kamala, couldn't lead a Girl Scout Troop (no disrespect to the girls). The corrupt mainstream media is responsible for whatever success she might be enjoying. So pathetic
@KyleClark So, Kyle, are you saying that there is not Gang activity in Aurora, no extortion and that the residents of Aurora should just suck it up and ignore it? I suppose you believe the same for the residents of Springfield, OH? Is your head in the sand?
@KatieDaviscourt So the California liberals have taken over Coeur d'Alene's local government? Only to find that the people who have actually lived there for decades have a completely different ethic.
Democrats claim America is losing its democracy, democracy is on the ballot in 2024, and it will be dead if Trump is elected. Here is a Quick summary of the difference between a democracy and a constitutional republic and why the United States of America is a constitutional republic.

Coming to a progressive state's utility rate structure near you.... For those considering the utility cost benefits of ICF, you might want to hurry! It seems California (PG&E) is now skewing utility bills based on income. Let's tax the wealthy.. #ICF https://t.co/ksftcREdZ1
@KyleClark Hey Kyle, "nothing to add to the Trump inditement"? Don't you find it a bit chilling for our Republic when the DOJ, FBI, IRS, and a host of other agencies are weaponized against political opponents? How about the prosecution of "peaceful" protesters from Jan 6?
