@inonewordraider@AdrianneCurry Murder at its height was mostly gang violence.
It is something that generally doesn’t affect the average citizen.
Property crime and homelessness impacts the average citizen. They are visible.
Those two make investment in housing not worth it.
@Alt_Azn 15-20 years ago I’d park my convertible with the top down on the street in Venice, in parking lots downtown or structures at the Promenade.
Never had anything if left stolen out of it. Not my change or an iPad.
🚨WOMAN GOES VIRAL ABOUT WHY SHE WILL VOTE FOR KAREN BASS FOR LA MAYOR
Reporter: Why are you voting for Karen bass?
LA resident: Black Pride!!
What a joke
@TheeJonFields I’m a transplant, coming to LA ~20 years ago.
I support Pratt because I want to build housing in downtown LA, turn it back into what it was on the verge of, and without a hardline homeless stance any new housing will stay a pipe dream because it will remain a bad investment.
@DavidGiglioCA I know once Bass wins a lot of people will give up on waiting to build/refurb new apartments in LA and just move on to other cities.
LA will keep having a worsening housing crisis because it’s becoming progressively bad to invest in.
@swd2 Anyone that wants more housing should be voting Pratt.
~8,700 new units a year and falling.
Someone needs to make investment in housing attractive or it will stay the same.
@justinAB_SF It’s funny though, that NIMBY or not, Pratt has the best chance of actually attracting investment in housing.
Plenty of people are waiting to jump in on projects downtown and elsewhere as long as it becomes a good investment.
We need more than ~8,700 units (and falling) a year.
@angns@lillehavfrue_ca@adamfrancisco_ He isn’t a proven failure as mayor already.
We’ve already seen Bass’s brand of failure burning down homes and letting people OD on the street.
There’s literally no reason not to try and see if Pratt can follow through.
If he fails, we’ve already got a failure in LA, so what?
@AfterHoursRed@j_fishback He looks successful, so why would he be forced to visit a black community?
If you’re going to visit a hood, Mexican ones are always better.
@angns@lillehavfrue_ca@adamfrancisco_ Here’s also the reason I support Pratt.
I’ve been putting together potential projects to renovate buildings in downtown LA in the 40-60 range. Apartments and mixed use.
Investment and building housing only becomes viable if we get rid of the bums and camps.
Bass hasn’t helped.
@angns@lillehavfrue_ca@adamfrancisco_ You have no concept of the state of LA and how bad Bass has been.
You’re just retarded.
Pratt isn’t a dream choice, but he’s a drastically better choice than someone with a proven track record of zero positives.
She’s not running on results, just “I can do better, I promise.”
@angns@lillehavfrue_ca@adamfrancisco_ No one should make a career out of being a politician. It doesn’t take expertise.
Bass is a complete disaster that has done only negative things, and is winning because of idiots and racial tribalism.
Literally any option that could be better is worth rolling the dice on.
@angns@lillehavfrue_ca@adamfrancisco_ Like I’ve said, the only important thing is who a politician surrounds themselves with, and he’s got people lining up.
Mayors don’t balance the budget by hand.
The other choice now is someone who trained at a literal terrorist camp in her 20s and has done nothing for LA.
