Effects:
Unloads LV
Increases CO & systemic perfusion
Improves coronary perfusion
Decreases myocardial Oโ demand
Temporary support, but powerful in the right patient.
Most common: Impella CP
Inserted via femoral artery โ across aortic valve
Inflow in LV, outflow in ascending aorta
Provides up to ~4 L/min continuous forward flow
@ThatOneRN_ana So happy to hear this! Truly my hope with all the videos is that they are found to be helpful for people who need them so itโs great to hear this.
To learn more about these values as well as how we calculate them check out my latest lesson on YouTube ๐ ๐ฅ
Normal Hemodynamic Values - Pulmonary Artery (PA) Catheter

๐๐ฅ If you want to learn more about these waveforms including more in-depth discussion breaking down each of the waveforms and their different parts, then check out the lesson on YouTube here:
Pulmonary Artery (PA) Catheter Waveforms EXPLAINED!

At various points along the path of the PA Catheter we have different pressures that we can get that tell us different things. We can follow the path of the catheter to discuss the different waveforms. ๐บ๏ธ
