@womensbrainpro Good point. The literature has pointed out gender-related and individual differences in diseases;thus the need for individualized approach to prevention and treatment, Unsure why the medical ed curricula do not reflect the differences.
@juliechristie1@HumzaYousaf Good point.if patients don't take their meds properly, such issue affects outcomes. Many older adults have multiple health problems requiring different meds. Drug regimen becomes more complicated, Another area needing help/education: Proper diet & nutrition. Often neglected.

@Shedfieldlodge Make meals a social event, while also respecting individual prefs.The environment contributes to positive eating experience.Some people w/dementia may not be able to eat enough.Screening for malnutrition & timely intervention,recommended by ADI (2014).Malnutrition is preventable.

@MaTeFerretti In-person conferences offer certain advantages over the virtual versions. Here conferences will be virtual, or hybrid, or in -person. An organization is requiring all attendees, exhibitors, guests & staff to be fully vaccinated to be admitted. It describes the process for safety.
The NTG on Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia Practices provides education & training for staff & families/caregivers. To date, it has held over 45 workshops in 25 locations & trained a total of nearly 3,000 people. .

@DiverseAlz So it's important to control the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. Several risk factors which are modifiable except for aging and genetics.
