#TBT to our first female Recruit Platoon. 

In June 1981 forty female recruits commenced training in The Curragh.
On completion of recruit training they were posted to various units throughout the Army.

Over the past week our 2 star trainees have been on tactical exercise. @2BdeGoc visited their forest base camp. Troops exercised in water insertion, long range patrols, recce and offensive ops. These are basic Infantry skills, The Combat Arm of every Force #strengthenthenation

This week coxswains from 2 Fd Engr Coy supported @6_Inf_Bn soldiers in conducting a tactical insertion by water. @DF_Engineers are the only branch of the Army with this capability, and assist units for training and operations in all weathers and waters!

Congratulations to the 16 3 Star soldiers who completed their training today with the 6 Bn. Ten counties and Poland were represented on parade. The training was delayed by #COVID19 but with #resilience planning and the dedication of instrs the course was completed. #GOC2BDE
