This is Sue, again. Karen (@AppleshedArt) & I want to thank you for all your support & tributes to Ian over the past month. Thanks also to all who came yesterday & to all who've donated to @pureinsight1628. We've been overwhelmed, in a good way, by your kindness & generosity. x
2. In lieu of floral tributes we would ask that donations are made to Pure Insight (https://t.co/3byVpXWHth ) a charity providing services to young care experienced people which was close to Ian’s heart, via their Just Giving page . https://t.co/3WKg7qyKH7
Thank you,
Sue & Karen
1. Hi, this is Sue again,
Ian’s funeral will be held on January 31st @ 11 am. Anybody wishing to join us to remember Ian, is asked to message me (@SueDickson812) or Karen, (@AppleshedArt) directly for full details, as we don’t wish to post these on social media. />>
@IDickson258 @article_39 I was so pleased to read this and learn all about your life. Thanks for sharing and I'm so sorry you won't be here for much longer. Susanna
@IDickson258 @article_39 @SueDickson812 As a care experienced adult I felt reassurance that my experience would not be so easily repeated in today's system because there are social workers like you to ensure the children receive CARE, I am sure that because of you and your work many do so, thank you for being that hope
Took time out to read this this morning, quietly with time to reflect.
From the interactions we’ve had on twitter,I’ve always taken note of @IDickson258 words, thoughts & views.
This was a very moving insight of your lived experience & will stay with me.

@IDickson258 @article_39 @SueDickson812 I’m sorry to read this Ian. I have followed you since I first worked with a charity that supports and guides care leavers and learned a lot from your tweets. I hope your onward journey is as comfortable as it can be 🧡
@IDickson258 @article_39 @SueDickson812 Ian you have been a force for love and kindness in an often soulless system. I know you are surrounded by love now. You will leave an amazing legacy in your work but most of all in your wonderful family and those special grandchildren. I have learnt so much from you. Thank you.
@IDickson258 @article_39 @SueDickson812 I hope the door closes as gently as it possibly can Ian, surrounded by ur gorgeous family. What you leave in the room that is this earth is a legacy of love, care & a body of work to improve the life’s of those that walk the same road you have walked along. All my love Ian. Xxx
@article_39 @IDickson258@SueDickson812 Met Ian & Sue at Liverpool conference 2019 made me feel very welcome
Thankyou for sharing account of your childhood & life’s passion & commitment to children in the system
Huge respect
Wish there were social workers or SW educators like yourself in Australia @AusSocialWorkJ
@IDickson258@GudbuyTJayne @article_39 @SueDickson812 I am sorry to hear we are going to lose you Ian you have been such a force for good and for ethical practice embedded in your love of young people. We have never met but I am sure your love for your children and grandchildren will live on. Keep raging
@IDickson258 @article_39 @SueDickson812 All my love to you and your family Ian. Your message will not be forgotten, you have had the conviction to speak up and out, and so many of us are thankful for that. May your journey be peaceful and full of love x
