@lluvrofsports My parents are leafs and habs fans respectively, so growing up we kinda just cheered for both even if they played each other, granted they always taught me to be respectful of the opposing team. Our family saying was “We lost to us!”
@whimsyteal I’m kinda nervous I won’t be able to see it as someone who doesn’t have access to espn, like I have not waited months just to not be able see the elevated cupcake experience
@miffymack No literally I was standing a ways away outside of the locker rooms post game at my local rink and it was rank, also stinks for like an hour after
@lesdeljkovic No literally like ice hockey as a sport is genuinely irrelevant to most of the world. Even in Canada I meet people who don’t know much/care about hockey beyond like the Olympics, even if they watched as a kid
@goldcnwaltz I was like that when I was younger for sure straight up didn’t have the time. Now a days I watch casually and keep up but I still don’t know everything that’s going on
If you think droves of people are gonna stop watching bc it’s women on the screen then you don’t understand what HNIC means to so many kids, and adults too.
You can tell some people forget not everyone has money for sports channels. I grew up with only HNIC did not matter if it was a team we “did not like” it was the only hockey we got at all in the week so we watched it.
