Nancy Njambi is allegedly, one of the victims of assault by Delmonte security detail.

Ms. Njambi claims she was handling her business beside a public road with her son, when she was approached and assaulted by security officers attached to the company. Nancy suffered head trauma, wounds on her body while her son suffered a broken leg. The duo, claim they were loading goods on their boda boda when they were attacked.

Strengthening Multi-Sectoral Referral Pathways for SGBV Survivors As part of the J4S (Justice for Survivors) Program, CREAW, in partnership with CDTD, convened a Multi-Sectoral Referral Pathways Actors Training in Nairobi County, bringing together key stakeholders involved in the response to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).

The training strengthened participants’ understanding of SGBV, Survivor-Centred approaches, psychosocial support, legal and court processes, survivor protection and effective referral pathways. It also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to reflect on survivors’ needs and strengthen coordination across the referral pathway, from the community level through to the courts.

The Justice for Survivors Program, implemented in partnership with the International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Region (IPPFAR), aims to strengthen Kenya’s shelter system for Survivor-Centred justice and care.

The Commission led by @EEEthekon today presided over the High-Level National Election Security Roundtable Consultative forum bringing together representatives from security agencies. The Chairperson expressed his gratitude to all participants and noted that @IEBCKenya had gazetted the election period. The Commission has also published electoral timelines and given Kenyans the roadmap to 2027GE. The gazettement triggers a series of activities including preparations to handle security issues around this period.

“Our country is as strong as the institutions, values, principles and people we have.“Together with stakeholders, we are ready to take extraordinary measures to ensure the 10th August General Election is peaceful, free, fair and credible to guarantee the stability and development of Kenya. As we move to 2027GE, be reminded that this election will test our collective preparedness to strengthen Kenya’s democracy. We must review the lessons learnt from the past to ensure the political competition remains lawful and peaceful,” said Ethekon.

Ethekon committed to work with the Election Security Arrangement Programme (ESAP) framework and explain challenges that the Commission will face while implementing the Electoral Code of Conduct. "Elections come and go but we shall always remain as Kenya," he said.

NCIC Chairman Kepha Nyamweya has warned that Kenya has paid a heavy price for election-related violence in the past and called for stronger investment in early warning and prevention measures ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the high-level National Election Security Roundtable Consultative Forum, he said the NCIC, IEBC, DCI and Office of the Registrar of Political Parties must strengthen information-sharing and coordinated action to address hate speech, ethnic incitement and other cohesion risks before they escalate.

ALEX KIPROTICH FOUND SAFE

The Standard Group PLC is relieved to inform the public that our Associate Editor, Alex Kiprotich, has been found safe this morning, following his abduction along the Gilgil-Nakuru highway last night.

Mr Kiprotich was located by a Standard Group team led by the Group CEO Chaacha Mwita at around 6.30am near Masinga Dam, after being dumped by his captors in the early hours of the morning. He had sought refuge with a nearby family, who took him in and cared for him. He is safe, though understandably shaken by his ordeal.

We thank everyone who mobilised through the night to search for him, prayed for him, and stood with this Group and his family through an anxious few hours - including the household that opened its doors to him.
The circumstances of Mr Kiprotich's abduction remain deeply troubling, and we will continue to press for full accountability. We will share further information as it becomes available.

For now, we are simply grateful that Alex is safe.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has noted social media posts claiming that it has today arrested an Advocate of the High Court and other prominent persons over alleged bribery.

The Commission clarifies that no such operation was conducted and the claims are false and misleading.

The public is therefore urged to disregard the claims and rely only on official EACC communication for accurate information on the Commission’s operations and activities.

EACC remains committed to providing timely and accurate information to the public.
