BREAKING: The right to wild camp on Dartmoor has been restored!
Darwall's court case sparked a huge backlash & the biggest land rights protest in a generation.
But this is not the end - we now need a new Right to Roam Act for England. Join @Right_2Roam!

On Jan 8th, in the depths of winter, I will be running one of the most challenging fell races in the calendar, the Trigger fell race. It’s around 23.6 miles, self-navigated with map...
I was cutting down an invasive spruce tree in the moors, minding my own business, when I had a surprise visitor. Got a wave back from the guy in the side gunner widow, which was actually quite cool.

So impressed with fellow Slaithwaite Striders club runner Michael, who seems to have actually *sprinted* the Montane Summer Spine Sprint to claim FIRST PLACE with a hefty lead on the following runners. 🙌👏

Michael Hyde wins the Montane Summer Spine Sprint 2022. He takes the win having led for most of the race, with a significant lead over the chasing pack, and in just under 8hrs.
Massive Congratulations to Michael on his amazing performance.

@MontaneOfficial@TheSpineRace Wow, Michael. I know its called the ‘Sprint’ but you’re not supposed to take that literally!
Slaithwaite Striders FTW! 🥇💚
@Daffooo I love goldfinches too. If you want to get more into your birding, I recommend the app Merlin Bird ID. You can also record your sightings on the app eBird, which conveniently integrates with Merlin. Both are free + no adverts 👌
An old post but one of my faves.
This is the sort of thing body-image should really be about!
Instead of size 'zero', I think we could all benefit from idolising size '2,000-miles-completed' instead.
Well worth the 2 min read.

@racin__grayson I’ve still got all the medals I’ve ever got but could certainly give up the t-shirts. It’s just more clutter and, as you say, less sustainable.
I like the idea of @treesnottees where organisers can put the money to planting a tree instead of giving a T-shirt. Much better idea!
Yesterday I wrote this for @OutdoorsMagic in what turned out to be quite an (unexpectedly) emotive experience for me. I hope it prompts discussion as the outdoors experience should be a safe space for all...
