Men do it & it’s not a problem. The reason you consider it one is because you believe that cooking is a woman’s duty so you now think it’s a problem that she’s not cooking & cleaning when she visits.
I say this to my kids all the time. Do it for the plot. Do it for the story. Tell yourself if it all goes wrong it will just be a funny story. Ironically job interviews, dates, and public speaking go better anyway if you're just happy to be there and not overthinking it!!
I really hope that Karmelo Anthony’s parents at some point sit down with their son and help him come to terms with the fact that he made the wrong choice using that knife.
If they refuse to ever bring this to him, with love and honesty, then they are hurting him even more. The justice system aside, at a spiritual level, I don’t see how he could ever have peace within himself if he can’t accept that.
I think he is a young man who was amped up, afraid, and made a reckless choice that he shouldn’t have. He pulled out a knife in the middle of a light pushing match over a bleacher seat during a chaperoned school event, where help was around if he needed it. He stabbed another child in the chest, before any punches were ever thrown.
I hope that when his people are talking to him about how the justice system was harsh towards him (it was), how his community turned on him (they did), how the world judged him (it did), how the jury gave him more years than they might have done for another teenager (they did), how he was over-charged with intentional murder when it’s clear he didn’t think he’d caused serious harm (he was), that the justice system is historically built on racism (it was)
— but that also, for the sake of Karmelo’s own spirit, that someone in his personal life is holding him accountable for killing Austin and altering both his own family & the Metcalf family’s life too.
You only bring a knife out if you truly believe you’ll be killed or gravely injured. He knew Austin wasn’t about to kill him in front of everyone. But he took it to the next level anyways. He made the wrong choice.
Adult friendships are so funny because you really just lose a friend on a random day after realizing you clearly don’t mean anything to this person, while at one point they meant the world to you.
Fortunately, this doesn’t change the price of bread, so good riddance and stuff🤘🏾

One thing about adulthood that way too many people learn way too late (and have no choice but to learn the hard way): you have to be deliberate/proactive about everything. For the first time in your life, you can't be passive participant in anything.
Alex Ekubo bowed out of his acting journey after giving us the masterpiece “Afamefuna” a title that literally means “may my name not be forgotten.” Clean guy, always fly asf 🔥😊
A lot of women get it wrong. Saying exactly how you feel is your superpower. Putting your best foot forward is the healthiest way to handle rejection because at least you leave with no regrets and can truly move on.
Don’t let bitter stories take away your feminine energy.
The joy of owning beautiful things, a good knife, a proper linen towel, a jar of excellent honey, one soul encapsulating perfume, over many mediocre things. Doing this slowly across every domain.
My aunt here in Abuja run a digital OMUGWO brand, she recruits women from 50s above to care for new moms after birth.
They take care of both mothers and their babies and get paid for the period they stay.
So many ways to make money, just think outside the bus.
