With the Task Force Commander aboard the USS Roosevelt with Captain Crozier, you can be assured that the Captain tried the Chain of Command before writing his letter. If you investigate, you will probably find the Pacific Fleet Commander at fault for the whole incident.

In my opinion, Captain Crozier was properly relieved of his duties for allowing a letter to be disseminated outside the chain of command which showed the ship was in a compromised position. This was not the way to do business.

A fresh start for the Navy is very much in order.

Who is the Rear Admiral aboard the Uss Roosevelt? It seem to me that if the Admiral had done is job, the Captain would not have needed to send a letter in the first place.

A senior US official tells me, Defense Secretary Mark Esper directed acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly last night to write a letter of apology to the sailors onboard the USS Roosevelt just hours after the acting Navy Secretary said he stood by his profanity laced remarks.

Something does not add up. There is a Rear Admiral aboard the Carrier and did not speak up. If the Task Force commander had done his job, the Captain would not have sent the letter in the first place.
