I'm back and this time it's (a) personal (account). Want to become second most popular Savage on Twitter. Me = football & booze. Opinions here are mine alone.
I like Gary Neville on the TV, but have to get him off Liverpool games. Asking for a yellow for Salah for putting his leg in an unnatural position. To shoot left footed, it’s probably best to plant your right foot ya divvy!
Ha ha, Howard Webb’s waffle half hour an absolute nonsense again. ‘The balls is too low to head . . .’ just after showing the ball at head height dropping between two players at waist height. He’s had a week to watch replays and that’s the best he’s got?
Coote is still clearly the worst ref in the prem, this Jones guy has been weak as piss. No bookings for diving or kicking the ball away. Bizarrely inconsistent.
Just watched the Hodgson post-match interview. Never understood the love-in with him - one of the least likeable and most disingenuous people in the game. Digging out van Dijk - Ayew wasn’t in the way, he intentionally puts himself in the way, that’s a yellow and his own fault.
Watch that yellow in isolation, then I see the argument. But when it’s cynically breaking down a counter attack, then it makes sense. Why on earth Rio is a pundit for this, I have no idea.
I’m not one to harbour a grudge (👀), but incredible to think that they didn’t have enough time to check the Diaz goal a few weeks ago. Sorry to bring it up again, it this should be 15+ of injury time.
Well the audio from Saturday is exactly as expected. Loads of voices confusingly speaking over one another, desperate to slap each other on the back for a job well done. I’m sure I was taught at school not to talk over others. Not fit for purpose, the officials not the system.
Appreciate that they want more respect for officials at grass roots level, but Premier League officials are paid a pretty penny to make a mess of things week in, week out. England always on VAR (rarely refs), but is consistently poor at that job.
Yikes, awful first half. Szoboszlai only bright spot, Quansah generallly holding his own. Gomez is so passive and terrible performance, MacAllister looks knackered, rest all a bit anonymous!
Blindly support their mate. If it’s a red for MacAllister, then we’re in for a long season of 8 vs 7. The fact that he’s missing 3 games when others have received a yellow for the same challenge is quite frankly embarrassing.
Not watched any of the analysis (seen some highlights without sound), but really struggling to see why MacAllister was sent off and Guimares wasn’t. Neither a red imo, but where’s the consistency? Abusing officials not good I agree, but these are professionals getting . .
. . paid handsomely for their work. Yet they continually demonstrate that they’re not fit for purpose. Bramall a ‘new’ referree, so can see how he might get overawed, so his experienced colleagues in VAR are there to help. Yet, they appear to feel that their job is to just
Unconvincing again tonight, lucky to still have a chance to progress. Need to up it at Molyneaux. Loved Doak’s cameo. Think the offside rule that player Salah onside, very reminiscent of Kane’s goal in the 2-2 draw few years back. Daft!
FFS, how does the new Twitter algorithm work? It can’t be based on engagement or dwell time. First three on my timeline just now were Andrew T Davies, Isabel Oakenshott and Nigel Farage. A cesspit of negativity and uselessness. And just because I like / follow Bob Mills . . .
. . . it doesn’t mean that I want to hear incessantly from Sophie Corcoran. I don’t mind hearing about opinions that differ dde on my own, but it’s just constantly filled with poisonous bile that I have no interest in.
