Day 2 at the Royal Geographical Society International Conference!
I presented part of my research on the @lagosfoodbank from a decolonial gastropolitics lens, seeing how they are rewriting the narrative of food redistribution and giving power back to the community @RGS_IBG

The 22nd Rural Entrepreneurship Conference (#REC2025) at @BangorUni was truly a meaningful learning experience. I presented my research on how #foodaidorganisations, like the @lagosfoodbank , move beyond traditional charity models to adopt social enterprise approaches.
Early this week, i had the privilege to give a talk to the @BangorGeogSoc about my #fieldwork experience with @lagosfoodbank . It was a great learning experience for me to interact with very bright minds. Thank you, @BangorGeogSoc for this opportunity,@BangorUni for the platform

📣 New research has shown that the Government saves nearly £118 million a year by getting nutritious, edible food to people through FareShare rather than letting it go to waste. This figure is almost three times as much as the savings to the State estimated pre-pandemic 👇
8-10% of global #GHG emissions are from #FoodWaste, but initiatives remain underfunded.
At COP27 we reported that only 21 countries had so far committed to reducing food loss &/or waste directly in their #NDCs.
As we head into #COP28 we need to see more action.
