The constant fear of a relationship ending can ruin it faster than anything else.
You start questioning everything, reading meaning into things that don’t need meaning, walking on eggshells and constantly looking for signs that it’s falling apart.
You become so consumed with preventing the ending that you forget to experience the relationship itself.
Just relax, put in the work and enjoy the moment, because what if it actually works out?🌚
Finding it difficult to pray?
Try looking at your relationship with God the way you look at a physical relationship. When you’re in love with someone, you naturally want to talk to them, hear from them, share your thoughts, and spend time with them.
Remember those days when we used to do XtraCool? You’d deny yourself sleep because you wanted to talk to man or woman abi? Very what? Very good! 😂
So why do we struggle to spend time talking to God?
I think we’ve sometimes reduced prayer to asking God for things, asking Him to destroy the strong man or woman in our lineage, give us more power, open doors, provide money, and answer our requests. And yes, all of these are valid things to pray about.
The Bible says:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
Philippians 4:6
But prayer is more than asking God for things.
Prayer is fellowship.
Prayer is communication.
Prayer is spending time with God.
Jesus Himself prayed. He would withdraw from the crowds just to spend time with the Father:
“So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.”
Luke 5:16
If Jesus considered prayer necessary, how much more should we?
In John 17, we see Jesus praying an extended prayer to the Father. In Matthew 6, He also teaches His disciples how to pray, beginning with:
“Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”
Matthew 6:9
Notice that He begins with relationship and worship, not requests.
Prayer isn’t just about what God can give you. It is about knowing God.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
James 4:8
Sometimes you don’t even need perfect words. Just come. Talk to Him. Tell Him how you feel. Thank Him. Worship Him. Ask Him for what you need. Sit with Him. Listen to Him through His Word.
And when you don’t know what to pray, the Bible reminds us:
“For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”
Romans 8:26
So if prayer feels difficult, don’t start by trying to pray for two hours.
Start with: “Father, I’m here.”
Start with gratitude. Start with Scripture. Start with honesty.
As you spend more time with Him, prayer becomes less of a duty and more of a desire.
Because the goal of prayer is not simply to get something from God.
The goal is to know Him.
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
John 17:3
Prayer is not a transaction. It is relationship.
