Clinicians are trusted voices in their communities — but many don’t see themselves as advocates. In a new IGCS podcast episode, Julie Torode, PhD speaks with Dr. Khadija Warfa about why clinicians must help shape national cervical cancer elimination efforts across Africa, the barriers they face, and how to get started.

The link between obesity, estrogen & uterine cancer
Obesity is one of the strongest risk factors—but stigma often keeps people from getting the support they need.
🔹 Fat cells produce estrogen.
More body fat = more estrogen = higher risk.
🔹 This isn’t about blame.
Health is shaped by many factors—not just personal choice.
✨ The solution? Support, not shame.
Let’s create space for informed, sustainable health choices.
The #Jump4June Challenge is one way you can encourage loved ones to make healthy lifestyle choices, like maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active, and understanding how obesity can increase the risk of uterine cancer.
💬 How can you support someone in making healthier choices?

Uterine cancer is one of the few cancers where both incidence and mortality rates are increasing. Yet many people have never even heard of it.
When cancer starts in the uterus (womb), it is called #UterineCancer (or womb cancer). The most common type occurs when abnormal cells grow in the endometrium (endometrial cancer).
A much rarer type is uterine sarcoma, which forms in the muscles and supporting tissues of the uterus.
