iGenOttawa promotes activities that encourage different ages to connect, teaming up with community partners on Intergenerational Day initiatives and year-round.
For a 6th year @ottawacity has proclaimed #IntergenerationalDay--a day to promote the value of intergenerational connections. Let's continue to seek out new opportunities to connect year-round. Even small acts can be a bridge between generations, to share experiences and smiles!
Tenants of the Clementine Towers community came together on June 1 with members of @iGenOttawa to complete community beautification projects. Each year, they replant and restore the garden. Read the story from Grant, a tenant volunteer. More info: https://t.co/BysLNlSfDh

Volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with people of different ages. Many organizations offer opportunities to share one's time and interests with another generation, including in our schools and long-term care homes. #intergenerational#ottcity
Become a friendly visitor volunteer in long-term care and play a vital role in enhancing residents’ quality of life, alleviate feelings of loneliness, and contribute to a positive, supportive atmosphere. https://t.co/qEZ10MvOe1
Intergenerational Day is Saturday! @iGenOttawa has selected the theme, “Connection, care, community.” Think about simple ways you could connect with someone from another generation. Maybe invite a family friend or neighbour to a community event, such as Doors Open Ottawa! 🎶

Today marks the 5th anniversary of @ottawacity June 1 as proclaiming iGen Day. iGen Day recognizes the importance of building bridges across the generations in our city and celebrates everyone that strives to connect the young and old through meaningful, shared experiences.
To create social spaces where people of different ages can come together, @iGenOttawa partnered with @OCH_LCO and @yowtoollibrary in 2022 to create an #intergenerational Gathering Bench at Clementine Towers. Since then, OCH has built more benches that are being enjoyed! #IGDay
Music connects different generations in simple and meaningful ways. This wonderful #intergenerational collaboration between @OrKidstra and @CDNSHOWTIME from 2021 will bring more smiles as #ottcity celebrates #IntergenerationalDay for a fifth year! Enjoy🎶
