Palmer Luckey, founder of Anduril, on patriotism and why he believes Silicon Valley has lost its American identity 🇺🇸
“I think a lot of Americans understand the problem. There are a lot of members of the uniparty here in the U.S. and abroad, and they buy a certain set of political values and social values that they largely didn’t decide for themselves. They’re isolated from the consequences of their decisions.
I saw a lot of this when I was in Silicon Valley. I don’t want to beat up too much on Mark Zuckerberg, but I’ve got to go back to my time when I was there.
There were a bunch of flags that flew on the Facebook campus. You had a pirate flag, an Instagram flag, a gay pride flag, a world peace flag. There was a Black Lives Matter fist for a while. No American flag.
Culturally, it was true. They thought of themselves as part of this global elite type of person.
I’m not saying there’s something bad about being an immigrant. But when you have a place where most of the people did not grow up in a country with its values, you’re going to end up with a place that much more greatly centers its care outside of the United States and prioritizes things outside of the United States.”
Interesting to see someone speak out against the Silicon Valley “Davos” crew. Palmer is a polarizing figure but is known for authenticity.
Greg Sankey, are you gonna do anything or hold anyone accountable with @SECOfficiating?
Oh wait, no you’re not because the refs don’t ever have to answer to anyone for their mistakes
18 year olds have to face the media when they lose or make mistakes, yet these “veteran” refs just get to go home and not answer to anyone about anything.
Something must be done
Officiating in college football has never been worse than it is right now. What a disaster. People should be fired, but these guys never get held accountable. It’s disgusting.
Greg Sankey should be embarrassed by the quality of officiating we see every week in the SEC.
Spend less time tweeting about the books you’re reading and show us some leadership.
The players and coaches deserve better.
@GregSankey
Gambling is the worst thing that’s ever happened to sports because you absolutely cannot watch what just happened to Alabama for 60 minutes and come away with any other assumption than the SEC officiating crew tonight had money on UGA. I am absolutely speechless at what happened.
Another day, another Econ 101 lesson for Professor Warren.
Her “Trumpflation” tracker conveniently ignores the Bidenflation tidal wave that crushed American families, cherry-picks wage growth by refusing to acknowledge positive real wage gains since President Trump came into office, and swaps official medical-care CPI data for premium projections when it suits her narrative.
The Harvard Square inflationista is offering a statistical sleight of hand, not a serious assessment of today’s U.S. economy.
Here is the full picture, including an apples-to-apples comparison of President Trump’s real economic results measured against the failed policies Senator Warren championed under Biden.
🚨DEMOCRAT FRAUD: Charlie LeDuff is investigating Abdul El-Syed & Act Blue donations and stumbled upon a woman who allegedly made $150,000 in donations, except… something isn’t adding up.
Yes, its campaign season and that means we all are going to be hearing a lot people saying a lot of pretty dumb things over the next couple of weeks.
This week's contribution from comes from Michigan.
"Why do we need to be moving fossil fuels?"
Here's why....
After the book launch event (which went great!), @DataInterpretr and I watched the @glennbeck special. And, oh my goodness, he has such a talent for explaining difficult concepts that are smack-in-your-face undeniable.
I hope there's a way to get this special out to the public, it's a conversation maker and election changer. The DSA must be stopped!
JEFF BEZOS SAYS HIGH HOUSING PRICES COME DOWN TO "ECON 101"
He says affordability problems are real. Young people look at home prices and think they'll have to live two hours from their job.
But he says a lot of government intervention in housing has made things worse.
"If you put in place government programs that subsidize demand and constrain supply, you are going to get high prices."
His counterexample is Austin, which he says made it easier to build over the last 10 years and now has housing prices going down.
Would you eat a pizza if someone poured lice shampoo on it first?
When Moms Across America sent food from the top 20 fast-food chains to an independent laboratory for testing, what we found was alarming.
Every single chain tested positive for glyphosate. ALL 20.
Across the samples, we detected 27 different pesticides.
🍕 Domino’s pizza crust contained six different pesticide residues, including piperonyl butoxide, a chemical also used in lice treatments.
🍕 Pizza Hut’s veggie pizza contained six pesticide residues.
🍔 Arby’s had the second-highest glyphosate levels in our testing.
In additional testing, we also detected monensin in Domino’s pepperoni, an antibiotic used in livestock feed that is not approved for human medical use.
Millions of Americans eat fast food every day, often without knowing what pesticide residues may be present in their meals.
Parents deserve to know what is in the food they are feeding their children.
Thank you, Kash Khan, for sharing our testing results and helping bring attention to what we are finding in America’s food supply!
You’re seeing a mass Indian crashout over these visa suspensions because the visas are the commodity.
They’re selling visas. They’ve always been selling visas. “Talent” has nothing to do with it.
Microsoft laid off 6,000 Americans, certified it couldn’t find qualified Americans, then got 6,000 H-1Bs and filed nearly 1,000 PERMs for the same jobs.
For decades, companies sold the American Dream to everyone except Americans. They swore the nation that built the modern world somehow could not staff its own offices, then used visas and green-card filings to replace the workers who built it. Fraud dressed up as global competitiveness.
Greed dressed up as necessity
