@FireMedic40NJ The difference is some are willing to make an investment in themselves and some are not. People go to college spend 10s of thousands on a degree to get a 20k raise. IMHO no matter how you structure the exam those most committed will win.
@FireMedic40NJ I didn’t take any offense but we now bring up questions not just in the fire service, are all kids on the same level taking SATs, getting into college etc... but the fees associated with promotional prep course are minimal compared to the salary of FFs.
