LUMERIS dev update: the combat core is finally taking shape — turn queue, WAIT mode, interrupts, Quick Chain, LINK, visible enemies and loot are working.
Now I’m moving into visuals: URP, terrain, a rebuilt opening area, proper character movement/animation #jrpg#gamedevs⚔️🌲
I’m moving Lumeris from prototype systems into real environments.
For an indie JRPG demo, what would you do?
A) Buy one cohesive environment pack + a few smaller assets
B) Hire a level designer
C) Use free assets and customize them
Trying to avoid the “asset flip” look.

Devlog #3
Since the last update, Sim gained Resolve, single-target and party barriers, plus the ability to read enemy intent. Rowan now has a bleeding attack with a cooldown, wolf leaders use special moves, and random encounters spawn weighted enemy groups. #indiedev

Huge milestone today! 🎉
Random encounters are now fully working: explore the world, trigger a battle, fight, earn loot, keep your HP after battle and seamlessly return to the exact place you left. Getting closer to a real JRPG every week! ⚔️

Devlog #2 ⚔️
Quest accepting, tracking & completion are now working. The first inventory UI is in place, world resources can be collected, and I've designed several unique gameplay systems that will define the game. 🚀

Devlog #1 — A week ago, my 3D JRPG was only a story.
Now I’ve started the Unity prototype:
• a scene
• a capsule
• a tree
• a campfire
• fire damage
A small beginning to a much larger world.
