Happy 35th Wedding Anniversary to Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa. To celebrate, here's video of Patti joining Bruce on stage for a duet of "Tougher Than The Rest" at Sea Hear Now in Asbury Park, NJ (Sept. 15, 2024)...
It was Patti's first public performance since she revealed she was diagnosed with early-stage multiple myeloma, and was a beautiful, tender moment that made an already incredibly special hometown show for the Boss even more moving.
I can't believe June 8 marks 22 years since My Chemical Romance released "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge." Almost as hard to believe I got to see MCR play "I'm Not OK" and "Helena" during a hometown show at MetLife Stadium last year (East Rutherford, NJ - Aug. 9. 2025)...
Sure, seeing the band play "The Black Parade" in its entirety was one of the big draws of the tour, but seeing them play songs that made these NJ darlings into a global rock sensation in front of 50,000+ fans was incredible.
22 years since The Killers released "Hot Fuss", and "Mr. Brightside" STILL causes a commotion the second someone turns it on. Which is why I was especially shocked when Brandon Flowers and co opened their headlining set at Sea Hear Now in 2023 with that song...
I had no doubt Sheryl Crow would sound great live. But I forgot how many classics she had before seeing her play Sea Hear Now back in 2023. While hits like "All I Wanna Do," "Soak Up The Sun" + "Everyday Is A Winding Road" were the perfect soundtrack on the Asbury Park Beach...
So to hear Crow sing that song (which she intro'd by sharing how "cool" it made her in the eyes of her kids) at that very moment was hysterical, and a fun but beautiful reminder of the incredible role music plays in every aspect of live - even in silly moments with your kids.
Kerry King and Tom Araya celebrate birthdays this week. So #FBF to the last time I saw Slayer perform live with Jeff Hanneman. Slayer brought their co-headlining tour with Megadeth (the American Carnage Tour) to the Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass, on Aug. 14, 2010...
And making this show even cooler was the fact that Slayer played 'Seasons in the Abyss' in its entirety. Little did anyone know that a few months later, Hanneman would take a leave from the band after he contracted necrotizing fasciitis from a spider bite on his arm...
I've seen Metallica live 9 times, but while celebrating the 30th anniversary of 'Load', I realized something... I have only seen the band play a song off that album once! I looked back at set lists of every Metallica show I've been to (thanks internet!)...
What albums from your favorite band do can you not recall ever seeing them play live? Reply below + stay tuned for more things to come from this space (including stories from concerts like this... and about the time I got to meet Metallica... but that's for another time 😉)!
