@MartinSLewis Odd link in perhaps, but could this potentially link into property? Example being leasehold flats where freeholder buys insurance via service charges. Not unheard of for then to get kickbacks undisclosed to the leaseholder. My head says this could be similar. Thoughts?
@afneil I feel they would generate more energy if they worked out how to harness the power of more capable politicians from the past spinning in their graves
@WPBHavantMP @Sambwfc4922 This person, who I am told is a Lab rep on Havant BC, was asking for electoral numbers. EC guidance suggests is allowed, but optional and cannot be forced, but wasn't presenting it that way. I know we just kept walking.
@WPBHavantMP @Sambwfc4922 Just as a demo, no other way past. Wasn't the station for myself, but walked up with family as was theirs when this happened.
@Sambwfc4922 @WPBHavantMP 5/ Reasonable numbers of contacts locally, and the election is bound to have come up in chats this week. I mentioned my experiences, and I expect she did too. This may well have steered a few more people away. Labour have to be a lot better and leave their echo chamber.
@Sambwfc4922 @WPBHavantMP 4/ All of that, and my own issue with the candidates answers not adding up, made it impossible for me to vote Labour. I have not asked who my relative voted for, but given her dislike of Labour following that, I'd not be surprised if it was a different candidate. We both have..
And with that, my vote is cast. This election left me politically homeless, so all candidates came into play originally. 3 of the 6 managed to actively convince me not to vote for them due to their intellectual malnourishment
@WPBHavantMP I wish you the best of luck Thursday. It'll be weird for me as someone more centre-right to vote for a socialist candidate. Thankfully, I've only been made politically homeless, unlike those less fortunate in this world.
@WPBHavantMP I think the important thing is always being true to yourself. Adopt positions based on the evidence, not what those aligned with you believe. As long as you do that, there's no need to doubt yourself.
@WPBHavantMP I get that your policy is for free degrees. But the debt side doesn't sit right. Rather it be referred to as a graduate tax, given amount doesn't appear on credit report, and how it's repaid. Just personal preference though on description!
@WPBHavantMP I fear the same, sadly. Back in 2010 was working in student finance when fees went to ยฃ9k. Lab criticise, but was actually their own review that suggested, they just lost GE. Personal note, I wish all parties would kinda stop referring to it as student debt
@WPBHavantMP I'd clocked the Labour councillors in the front row, a few more ex-councillors 2 rows back from them. Leader of Labour sat next to my mother and was constantly peering at the notes she was writing (newbie to hustings, wanted reminder). Mods personal opinion re trans probs not req
@WPBHavantMP We were just discussing it afterwards, and both independently felt Labour were getting favourtised a fair bit. They seemed to have stacked the room, and was a fair bit of interruption of the candidates. FB pages suggest moderator had been promoting Labour candidate a bit also.
