- Equity markets have responded positively to this, mainly because of Trump’s last term where he reduced corporate tax rates.

On Employer National Insurance, Reeves has announced an increase from 13.8% to 15% from April 2025.
The ‘secondary earnings threshold’ for employers to start paying National Insurance will also reduce from £9,100 to £5,000.

The minimum wage or 'National Living Wage' will increase to £12.21 per hour in 2025, for those aged over 21.
Meanwhile wages for those aged 18 - 20 will see an increase to £10 per hour.

Today saw another sharp reduction in UK wage pressures which supports the case for lower interest rates.
