Flakes Fall Uniquely...

They fall like lovers who’ve forgotten fear,
slow, trembling,
each flake seeking the warmth of another’s breath.
The air is full of longing ..
tiny hearts of ice
spiraling toward the promise of skin.

Some land on your lips,
melting as if kissed by fate.
Some rest upon your collarbone,
where I imagine my hand instead,
tracing their brief shimmer before it’s gone.

Even the moon watches softly,
her light spilling over us like quiet devotion.
Every flake that falls
seems to whisper our names
in a language made of hush and touch.

And when one lands on your chest..
it lingers, just a second too long,
as if the snow itself
has fallen in love
and refuses to disappear...
