A new bill to raise high school coaches pay looks like it may pass in Florida.

It would bump football coaches who work no less than 1,500 hours per year to a stipend of $22,000. Coordinators would go to $15,000 (1,000 hours min.)

Basketball, baseball and softball coaches would jump to slightly more than $11,000.

For context, the new Florida stipend would be more than four times more than what Mecklenburg County coaches currently receive, before taxes.
