"A witness who saw Kivumbi upon his release told Human Rights Watch that he had scars on his head, arms, legs, and back, apparently from the beatings." https://t.co/0hCENgg4On
I worry that soon or later, there would be no one left: Earlier, it was Dr Stella Nyanzi, novelist Kakwenza Rukirabassaija, then Isaac Ssemakadde. Soon, it was Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu. Ssemujju Nganda. Winne Kizza. Eron Kizza. Nicholas Opio, too?
Sadly, these are some of the best brains of our time.
Plus many ordinary folks fleeing – for both economic and political reasons.
On their part, many NRM-leaning notables are fleeing quietly or are on the set-set – visa or foreign passports on the ready. Eh.
The Special Forces Command (SFC) is an elite force whose primary mandate is to protect the president and his family. Off books, this force only answers to the CiC and the current CDF
SFC, formally Special Forces Group (SFG), formally Presidential Guard Brigade(PGB) and formally the Presidential Protection Unit (PPU), has only been commanded by officers from only one region of the country apart from Brigadier General Peter Candia, a man from Madi- Okolo in West Nile. The list is as follows:
1. Lt. Gen. Sam Kavuma: Mid-2000s – 2008
2.Muhoozi Kainerugaba 2003–2017.
3.Don Nabasa 2017–2019
4.James Birungi 2019–2020
5.Muhoozi Kainerugaba 2020–2021, Returned for a second stint leading the elite unit.
5. PETER CANDIA 2021–2022
6. Felix Busizoori 2022
7. David Mugisha 2022–2026
8. And now, Brigadier General Asaph Mweteise Nyakikuru, the newly appointed.
I just wanted to congratulate Afande and not to sound tribalistic 🙌
Whatever program you see , the main reason is how they can get the money, from treasury, how can we share it? And what remains for that program.
The main work for @KagutaMuseveni ministers is to account for the money the ministry receives after sharing and distributing it to people some of them outside their ministries on the president’s orders.
I can relate how omwana womuntu nuwagaba can be tortured? If he wasnt lucky to see the president how would he have survived? This is the first and only time the president has known about torturing! Yes ,because who is tortured matters imagine being tortured and end up in president’s custody,
I dont believe you’re senile as @AndrewMwenda said but what i can say is @KagutaMuseveni you betrayed us so much people are killed every day but because they are not your tribe mate you don’t even bother your brain to know.
No tear gas in western
A muhiima is a superior in every department
He has failed to condemn all the atrocities committed against Ugandans for many years, i believe he is not only unfit for the position but even dangerous to the world more so during this time when the world is experiencing wars in all corners and a gross human rights violations by many governments.
Pathetic liar! This coming from a man who for four decades has presided over a regime known world-over for the worst forms of torture is beyond shameless! The same man who publicly said that I was beaten properly when I was tortured to near death in Arua. The same man who recently boasted that he had kept our Kenyan brothers in his fridge - being subjected to incredible torture. The same man, whose criminal son broadcasts images of tortured victims and threatens opponents with the most vile forms of cruelty. And all Museveni does is to come out promoting him and praising his foul actions. Sickening hypocrisy!
Of course he hopes that these denials might shield him from accountability, but the world is not stupid. A time will coms when he and his henchmen will be held to account for every wound inflicted on our people.
Arrogant @NRMOnline supporters behave as though they own Uganda. One recently even decided to drive the wrong way down an expressway, simply due to their political affiliation.

@PoliceUg How did you know they are all stolen? Uganda police we all know you all know you connive with thieves all over the https://t.co/r1j5P6WWCr know all thieves.
Watch this and you might think you're watching films about Uganda in 2026. Except that these documentaries are about Uday Hussein, Saddam Hussein's son who was known for his excessive cruelty, abuse of women, erratic behavior, and gross human rights abuses- including torture, rape, and murder. Like Museveni’s brutal son, Uday employed extreme sadism, erratic violence, and total impunity to commit severe atrocities and terror campaigns against the people, until his death in 2003. Hoping that he would succeed his father, he murdered, kidnapped and jailed opponents - often times in his private prisons and torture chambers. Today, his name lies where it truly belongs - in the dungeon of history. History does not repeat itself - only fools repeat history, because they never learn anything from it.

I was tortured and interrogated by Gen. Museveni's operatives on why i could represent a "muganda" in Court yet I'm a "munyankole" NUP's lawyer, Kenneth Kakuru.
OH no. 😭
