@EndowarriorArt That’s terrifying and not talked about enough. Women deserve to know the real risks so they can advocate for earlier screening and care. More awareness on this is needed....
This is long overdue. Renaming PCOS to PMOS finally reflects what millions of women have known — it’s not just ovaries, it’s a whole-body metabolic condition. Hopefully this means faster diagnosis, better research, and care that treats the root, not just symptoms. 💛 #PMOS #EndoAwareness
@projectendo That rings true. It is frustrating when answers don’t come quickly, but it also shows how much women end up learning and pushing for clarity on their own. Thanks for saying it out loud.
I agree with this. It is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget that our experiences and struggles are valid. Messages like this help put things in perspective and remind us that it is possible to keep moving forward, even when it is hard. Thanks for sharing, and thanks to @oliviabrierley for putting it so clearly.
There is a common belief that daughters should not be given #painkillers for severe #menstrual pain in Nigeria. Some parents fear long-term side effects, while others believe it builds resilience.
The truth is, intense menstrual pain can be debilitating. Making a child endure it in silence can affect her mental and emotional wellbeing over time, sometimes leading to anxiety or depression.
Pain relief is not weakness. It is compassion. When a girl knows she is supported and heard, she is empowered to cope, heal, and thrive.
*Let’s listen first, and choose care over silence.*

It’s not just the diagnosis. It’s the silence around it. Being handed a prescription without real conversation isn’t the same as care or a solution.

Repost from @iamroxytg
Being an African woman has been a real advantage for me in managing #endometriosis. We have so many natural, organic foods that can help ease the pain, and most of our traditional soups are rich, nutritious, and naturally gluten-free. Think ogbono, ewedu, okro, ugu — just to name a few.
@EndowarriorArt You’re absolutely right — the chronic inflammation can spread beyond the pelvis and impact multiple systems, which is why it’s so exhausting. It’s not just localized pain; it can affect digestion, energy levels, sleep, mood, and even how the immune system functions.
I do not accept retrograde menstruation as the definitive explanation for endometriosis. Although it remains a long-standing hypothesis, there is currently insufficient evidence to substantiate this view. Contemporary research suggests that the condition likely arises from a combination of genetic, immunological, and environmental factors. In my perspective, the origin may lie in embryological development, where cells that normally form the uterine lining could, during differentiation, implant in an ectopic location.
Calling #endometriosis “unbearable” does not even come close. It is living with a fire in your abdomen that no one else can see — pain that hijacks your days, your plans, and your peace, yet still gets dismissed as “just bad cramps.” It is war inside your own body, fought silently while the world tells you to smile through it. Unbearable does not cover it. Endometriosis is a thief — of time, of energy, of normalcy.
#Endometriosis pain is not one-size-fits-all. Not everyone experiences severe pain, but for some of us it is debilitating. We can be knocked out for weeks or even months, and sometimes even the glow of a screen is too much to handle, forcing us offline completely. Taking time off is not a choice. Menstrual migraines are often hormonally triggered, and when they hit, it becomes overwhelming. It is absolutely brutal.

Do you know oranges may help ease endometriosis symptoms with vitamin C's anti-inflammatory powers? Some women find relief with citrus, others might be sensitive – balance is key... you need to know what works for your body. Other citrus fruits like grapefruits, lemons, and limes also pack a punch! They're rich in antioxidants, support immune function, and may help reduce inflammation. 😊 #endometriosis #wellness #citrusforhealth #womenshealth #nutritiontips #healthyliving #oranges #grapefruit #lemons #limes #citruslove #citrusbenefits

5 easy steps that actually started turning things around for my endometriosis 💛🎗
After years of flares stealing my life, I began focusing on these daily—no magic cure, but they gave me more pain-free days and hope:
✔️ Anti-inflammatory foods
Greens, blueberries + fresh ginger became non-negotiable. They help calm the constant fire inside me.
✔️Gut love with probiotics
Adding probiotics eased my endo belly bloating and seemed to lower overall inflammation—huge for me.
✔️Targeted vitamins
Magnesium especially (plus D, B’s, omega-3s) cut my cramps and made flares less vicious. I wish I’d started sooner.
✔️Breathwork + gentle movement
5–10 mins of deep breathing + kind walks/yoga help me reset stress and dial down pain signals when everything feels overwhelming.
✔️Journaling
Tracking symptoms, moods, and small wins helps me spot patterns and feel less alone in this.
Which one resonates with you right now—or are you already doing any? Tell me below, we’re in this together 🩷
Struggling with endometriosis-related pain, fatigue, bloating, or poor sleep?
Magnesium may play a supportive role in symptom management.
Magnesium is a critical cofactor in over 300 enzymatic reactions and is involved in neuromuscular signaling, smooth muscle relaxation, and inflammatory regulation. By reducing calcium-driven muscle contraction, magnesium can help relax uterine and pelvic floor muscles, which may contribute to decreased cramping and pain perception.
It also supports the nervous system by modulating NMDA receptors and reducing neuronal excitability—mechanisms linked to pain sensitization and central pain amplification, both of which are implicated in endometriosis.
From a digestive standpoint, magnesium influences gut motility and fluid balance, which may help alleviate constipation and bloating—common issues in endo due to inflammation, hormonal fluctuations, and altered gut–pelvic signaling.
Magnesium is also involved in estrogen metabolism, supporting liver detoxification pathways (phase II conjugation) that help maintain healthy estrogen balance—relevant given endometriosis’ estrogen-dependent nature.
These mechanisms help explain why many individuals with endometriosis report symptom relief with magnesium supplementation. ✨️🎗
we are DECADES behind on research on female health and this is what resources are being wasted on. studies about how males are collaterally affected by diseases that women suffer, studies about how men can’t get enough pleasure due to endometriosis . WHAT ARE WE DOING
