@armahillo@kefimochi Also took me a minute to see the effects of making friends with the town had on enjoying the game. I got bored at first, but starting the friendships went from a 3/10 to an 8. Now, for me, sits at “masterpiece” level. But I agree that mileage can vary *wildly*
@armahillo@kefimochi Probably my favorite comment on the game. I play Witcher 3 and get annoyed I’m not countering or rolling good enough, a little bit of anxiety creeps in. SV is designed in a way that if you miss something, it’s almost never “gone” - it just lays there waiting for you to find it
@SQLTrooper Thanks @SQLTrooper! Will see what I can adjust, query coming from MSSQL filtered trx replication. This is late, thought I had notifications on
@tarynpivots Postgres still leads the list of “stuff I want to learn in-depth” - sounds awful what you and your team are dealing with but can’t hurt even just to test
@medus4_cdc@EverclearBand@wheatus@Hoobastank@LivingColour @mikemaner I remember they had a few songs from 1st and 2nd albums, but I remember before they did Cult of Personality (closer for their set) they did a few from a more recent album, I think (Chair I. The Doorway?). This tweet reminds me to get more of their music onto my rotation
@SQLRockstar Is it bad I’m thinking about taking a couple of instances back to physical? On Huper-V and can’t ever get appropriate memory sizing from sysadmin team
@CarmenCrincoli One of our clients has this retention requirement too. I guess their genuine thought was “what if they just change the calendar and we have 3 plus-sized months in a row?!”, and it wouldn’t surprise me even a little
@tarynpivots I used Python to automate a PITA. Allocated a couple of days, turned out I was done in like 4 hours. It isn’t always a “magic duct tape” language but it’s the closest thing out there. Changed my career path TBH
@tarynpivots I consider myself either lucky or blessed that I first ran into logins with wrong SIDs on a test system. But that title is perfect, AG’s still inflict pain where you don’t expect it
@simon_sabin@EdDebug@MJSwart Agreed! It's a nice one stop shop when the language doesn't get in the way. I tend to favor going to a true BizLogic layer when T-SQL gets in the way. 20 lines of T-SQL vs 4 lines in Py/C# makes it easier for me to maintain long term
@simon_sabin@EdDebug Agreed, it leads to some interesting anti-patterns where SPs are ersatz functions. Favorite article on this is @MJSwart "Are You Programming In The Database?"
