The next @NATO summit will be held in Tirana, it was reconfirmed during Prime Minister Edi Rama’s meeting with the Alliance’s Secretary General, Mark Rutte, in Brussels this Tuesday.
The meeting focused on Euro-Atlantic security, expanding cooperation among allies and Albania’s role in the Alliance.
@ediramaal and @SecGenNATO reviewed security challenges, including hybrid threats, cyberattacks, disinformation, foreign interference and the protection of critical infrastructure.
The discussion also covered the development of Corridor VIII as a military mobility route between the Adriatic and the Black Sea. The corridor is considered important for NATO’s mobility and operational readiness on its southeastern flank. In the same context, the two sides discussed the Porto Romano project and its potential to develop infrastructure and logistics capacity in support of the Alliance. 🇸🇦 Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman @kbsalsaud held telephone talks with @NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte @SecGenNATO to discuss military and defense cooperation and coordinate efforts in response to ongoing regional developments.

During the call, the two sides reviewed joint coordination regarding the current situation in the region, with a focus on supporting regional and international security and stability.

Prince Khalid and #Rutte also discussed several issues of mutual interest.

Separately, the Saudi defense minister held telephone conversations with Canadian Defense Minister David McGuinty, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles to discuss regional developments amid the condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia.

The calls focused on coordinating efforts between Saudi Arabia and the three countries in response to regional developments and exploring ways to strengthen joint action to support security and stability in the region. #SecGenNATO #MarkRutte
