โIf you get sexually assaulted / raped why wouldnโt you tell the police?โ
A thread of quotes said by real judges in court during rape trials๐๐พ
@farawaydaes It makes me so sad that you didn't get to experience learning Islam from a woman. It makes all the difference in the world. Religion means nothing if you are using it to overpower kids and these men deserve a punishment worse than this world can offer
To all the woman who have been brave enough to speak out and to the women who aren't quite ready yet. I believe you. You are not to blame. You did nothing wrong. And I love you all. I understand it's hard to break free from the chains that held/hold you back.
It's time that we name and shame these so called Sheikhs. We need to weed them out and hold them all accountable. They are doing such a disservice to the parents who trusted them with their children to teach them the word Allah.
As we grew older we got the 'girl talk' at dugsi. We were taught that our bodies will go through some changes (puberty). We were taught about periods and how to clean up after ourselves. How to perform ghusl and the importance of it.
We all looked forward to every Saturday. That was a day filled with fun, laughter and love. They dedicated time for us all to also be children. We played till our hearts content. Some of my best childhood memories happened at dugsi.
I will always believe somali girls and their sexual assault/harassment stories. Some of these men don't even understand why their actions are wrong and that's the disturbing part.
