Financing for farmers should be clear and transparent in the next long-term #EUBudget.

Met yesterday with @Ili_Ivanova, rapporteur for the Opinion on the Common Agricultural Policy on behalf of @EUauditors, together with my colleague @carlatavares_ps, following the publication of the European Court of Auditors’ opinion on the future Common Agricultural Policy.

The Court identifies important shortcomings and warns of risks linked to uncertainty, lack of clarity, complex governance, and reduced traceability of EU funds.

It stresses that #CAP financing must remain predictable, transparent, and fully traceable to final beneficiaries.

We, the Parliament, will take the ECA’s opinions seriously, as they merit the full attention of all institutions involved in the negotiation and implementation of the #EUbudget.
