stop worrying about electoral politics and accept the horror. Horror and moral terror. They are your friends. Or they are truly your enemies to be feared.
@CourtSpinelliTV@WGNNews Good to know. I will debate sneaking in like my last Obama event! Illinois Record will not disclose are fool proof sneaking in methods.
@WrestlerHauser I am not categorically against Gender Swapping roles. It's just didnt work in the Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake "The Hustle". Anne Hathaway was an okay sub for Michael Caine, but Rebel Wilson was a terrible casting choice for the Steve Martin (originally Marlon Brando) role.
@WrestlerHauser Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a remake itself though..... and they remade it with Anne Hathway a few years ago. The newest remake was tough watch. They moved the plot to modern times and switched the genders.
The first time McCarthy lost speaker was due to one of my political mentors Steve Baer (Blessed be his memory) using group texting and email to blast McCarthy for alleged sex scandal. #Twil#RIPSteve
New: A new book by John Leganski reveals new details about the lead up to McCarthy’s ouster:
Despite Matt Gaetz’s insistence that he ousted McCarthy on policy grounds, Gaetz routinely brought up his Ethics Investigation to McCarthy.
At one point, he texted a screenshot of a tweet about his Ethics Investigation saying: “Very poor decision. See you soon.”
The book also reveals that Jeffries privately told McCarthy that he didn’t want to help Gaetz remove him, but admitted that his conference wouldn’t let him vote to save him.
“You have five families, Kevin. I’ve got eleven,” Jeffries told the then-speaker, referring to their party factions, according to the book.
The day of the vacate vote, McCarthy let Jeffries off the hook:
“Just my opinion—don’t split your conference,” McCarthy texted Jeffries, according to the book. “This is my fight in my party.”

Agreed! Alexi is being supported by top unions, the top pro Israel donors (Michael Sacks and more will not mention), and the Obama team. Each group will provide meaningful cash and resources. I just dont see how he can juggle 3+ groups who often are at direct odds with eachother for over a year under the microscope. Mendoza's messaging puts a cap on her potential, but it does give her a clear lane to run on (the Paul Vallas lane, but without Vallas backage or unlikability).
"Stand in the middle of the road, get run over". Alexi is clumsy as evident by his last competitive race for US Senate. I don't think Alexi is going to able to juggle so many identities for over year while having over sized target on his back from 10+ other campaigns. The smart money is on Mendoza, but Johnson as an incumbent who is a rock star to the progressives has real chance and also some random candidate can win via sneaking into the run off against an unpopular opponent (ie how Brandon Johnson won by it being a 1 on 1 race vs unpopular ex CPS chair Paul Vallas)
@FrankCalabrese@JeffO773 Exactly. Therefore Cardena can only drive his 1k a month vehicle 4 times a year for personal use to comply with the law. I may hit this clown with a complaint.
@FrankCalabrese@JeffO773 I thought the cook county board of review has less than 1 meeting per month. I am calling BS that Cardona is using his 1k a month vehicle primarily for government duties or campaigning.
@ballesteros_312@CitizenVMachine "If the vehicle will be used PRIMARILY for campaign purposes or the performance of government duty." I am calling bs that the car is primarily used for government duties or campaigning. It's just common to break or bend campaign finance law.
Chicago is a very funny place because it’s considered beyond the pale to ask an elected official about spending $60k+ on a luxury vehicle for campaign purposes
@IllinoisRecord@WindyCityDriver@JennyGooz I disagree, but I can certainly be wrong. I just think in a race like this, he threads the needle most between moderate and left. He doesn’t have DSA but he has progressives. Name everywhere thanks to SOS and he has $$$. Maybe he doesn’t run? Who do you think?
Politics aside, I dont think Alexi will make the run off. Being the front runner this far from the election is often a bad thing (all the other candidates attack you). And Alexi is going to have major problem keeping his ultra progressive, ultra pro Israel, and ultra pro mafia wings all happy. It may be impossible and will certainly lead to weird/odd messaging.
@WrestlerHauser You are making an assumption based on tweet I wrote in 2 seconds on phone. Everyone should "read more books". Only (sometimes deserved) elite get nominated for things like golden globe or Emmy. Being nominated is just as big a deal as winning in this humble movie needs opinion.
