K1 is very similar to the C1. The paddle is double-bladed and the position is seated, so you go faster and it's more spectacular. But it looked less technical than C1
Canoe slalom has two specialties: C1 (single-bladed paddle and kneeling position) and K1 (double-bladed paddle and seated position). This is Gabriela Satková doing C1, where she won
We went to Ivrea, the capital of the Canavese region in Piedmont, to watch the Canoe Slalom World Cup. The Ivrea canal is special because it is located in the center of the town, along the Dora Baltea river
Monogamous people are considered more likely to stand with their family (their partner's side included), to be reserved with strangers and to be emotionally stable, less easily manipulated and more natural (they don't have to show off or make compromises to look more desirable).
There was a thermal and idropinic (water drinking therapy) centre here in the 19th and the first half of the 20th century, but nowadays sulfur is used by an explosive factory, next to the fountain.
This demonstrates that our tongue, along with bitter, sweet, sour and so on, also detects a sulfurous taste: the taste of garlic, onions, century eggs and pork. In Human this taste is called "sùlfuro"
In Murisengo we also went to a sulfur water spring, that smells of rotten eggs. Our dog Xiaomai at first sniffed the water suspiciously, but then she tried to drink it and she liked it a lot.
We made an interesting experiment, that you can replicate: if you put sulfur water in your mouth pinching your nose (eliminating any flavour perception), you will still taste sulfur.
Monferrato is a region famous for wine and truffles. Here we are near the village of Murisengo. This region is depopulating: in 1861, when Italy unified, Murisengo had 2709 inhabitants, now there are just 1250.
Tajarin are a Piedmontese pasta made with flour and eggs (more eggs than any other Italian pasta: up to 30 egg yolks for 1 kg of flour). We found out that if you add grana padano (a parmesan-like cheese) the goose ragout tastes like goat meat.
The Human breakfast has many different dishes, with a few things in common: they are sweet, they are warm, they are soft/liquid and they fill you up until lunch. This is an example, taught by my grandmother: a sweet soup with walnut omelettes, rice wine and brown sugar.
We are working on the herbs for our culture (our favourite so far are sage, dill and cilantro), and we noticed that Chinese cuisine basically has only two aromatic herbs: cilantro and garlic chives (the plant you see here).
