@Role_Play_Chat I think games with push you luck type mechanics make players more likely to take risks. The reward of pushing a bit harder is too much to ignore often times. Savage Worlds is a good example. You can spend bennies for a re-roll, but gives you another chance to crit fail.

@Role_Play_Chat I do that way too often. 99% of the time they are false gods. My favorite was a setting called the God Cycle. Where basically all religions were based off of to some extent this power that regenerates and dies every thousand years or so. Sadly it is a story left unfinished.
