In a panel on the importance of open innovation - & being open-minded - for corporate R&D, Neil Parry of @Unilever observed: "When a startup comes to us with an idea of how we will work together, their original idea is never the one we actually end up using" #ImagineChemistry2019

Day 2 of #ImagineChemistry has kicked off with a keynote from author Rob Adams, who gave lots of advice on how to be more innovative as a company, such as: "Beware of experts, because they’re working based on data from the past, not the future."

Martijn van Loon, RD&I Operations Manager, spoke on developing a value case with @Nouryon: “Our companies are probably very different. It’s very important to get to know each other and understand each other in order to arrive at the end goal together.” #ImagineChemistry2019

Neil Parry, R&D program Director Biotechnology & Biosourcing @Unilever, spoke on their company’s journey to move from fossil feedstocks to bio-based ingredients. “Nature’s good at giving us useful molecules, but it’s not very good at commercializing it.” #ImagineChemistry2019

Marco Waas, Global Director RD&I and Technology at @Nouryon, spoke this AM about key lessons we've has learned by working with startups. A highlight: “Time for startups is real money. For us a delay of a few months is inconvenient – for a startup it could be life or death.”
