@USATODAY Tensions between city leaders and federal authorities keep growing. Hopefully, the investigation will establish the facts and help ensure that everyone involved is held accountable under the law.
DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin says President Trump offered to transfer the 28-year-old man shot by an ICE agent in the Bronx to NYPD custody if the department agreed to pursue charges against him. Mullin said New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani rejected the proposal, telling him, “We will not be detaining him.”
@CBSNews This situation raises some serious questions about cooperation between federal and city officials. The facts need to be clear, and any decision about charges should be based on evidence and due process.
@nypost The Nobel Peace Prize and political criticism are two different things. It would be interesting to hear a fair discussion of her work and the reasons behind these comments. Everyone deserves a chance to be judged on the facts.
@Variety When people leave a major news organization and speak out like this, it raises important questions about what really goes on behind the scenes. Transparency and trust matter so much in journalism.
@WSJ Allegations like these deserve a fair and thorough investigation. The facts should speak for themselves, and everyone should be held to the same standards, regardless of their position.
Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike is walking and eating again after surviving a botched lethal injection, her attorneys said. Pike, 50, survived two doses of execution drugs and was left with burned, blistered arms, according to her lawyers. https://t.co/uBnhkNlECi
@NEWSMAX This is a difficult story to process. The fact that she survived two doses and suffered such severe injuries is deeply disturbing. There are serious questions that deserve answers.
Margaret Hamilton, the pioneering software engineer whose work helped make the Apollo 11 moon landing possible, died Sept. 30 at age 90, MIT confirmed Thursday.
Hamilton led the team that developed flight software for NASA's Apollo missions and is famously pictured standing beside towering stacks of printed code created by her team.
At a time when women faced significant barriers in science and technology, Hamilton broke ground in the male-dominated field of computer programming. Her work helped establish software engineering as a discipline and inspired generations of women to pursue careers in STEM. She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
@CBSNews A true pioneer whose work changed the course of history. It’s inspiring to think how much courage and determination it took to break barriers and achieve so much. May her legacy continue to inspire generations
@nypost Politics can certainly bring some unexpected moments. It’ll be interesting to see how their past differences compare with the message at the rally.
