To @ygent_official@ygofficialblink,
Over the years, we have continued to support @BLACKPINK through every achievement, every solo project, and every stage of their journey. We understand and appreciate that each member has pursued successful individual careers and has maintained a demanding schedule. We have celebrated those accomplishments because they reflect the incredible talent of each member.
However, we cannot help but feel that BLACKPINK’s milestone as a group has not received the attention it truly deserves.
In the past, fans were given hope that there would be more group activities and new music. Yet, as we approach such a historic anniversary, the group’s discography remains surprisingly small for artists of their global influence. It is especially difficult to understand why previously recorded or unreleased songs have not been coordinated for release when there have been long periods with little group content.
BLACKPINK is not just one of YG Entertainment’s artists… they are the biggest girl group in the world. Their legacy has been built through their identity as a team, and a 10th anniversary is a rare milestone that deserves to be celebrated in a meaningful way.
As loyal BLINKs, we respectfully ask YG Entertainment to honor this occasion with significant group activities. We hope to see meaningful celebrations before and during the 10th anniversary, including multiple new music releases, special performances, and projects that celebrate BLACKPINK’s journey together.
It is now only three days until BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary, yet there has been no meaningful announcement or large-scale celebration planned for such a once-in-a-lifetime milestone. The only anniversary merchandise revealed so far has left many fans confused and underwhelmed. Across the fandom, many have joked that one item resembles a pink urn and another a shot glass “to drown our sorrows” over the lack of new music. While this sentiment is shared humorously among fans, it reflects a very real disappointment that such an important anniversary appears to be centered on merchandise rather than celebrating BLACKPINK’s music and legacy.
Our request comes from a place of love, not criticism. BLINKs have remained incredibly loyal despite long gaps between group releases and relatively limited group promotions. Through every hiatus, we have continued to stream, purchase albums, attend concerts, and support every member’s individual endeavors. We have always believed in #BLACKPINK and stood by the group through every chapter.
We sincerely ask that our voices not be overlooked. The fans have been an essential part of BLACKPINK’s success, and we hope this milestone becomes a celebration shared by both the artists and the fandom that has supported them unconditionally for the past decade.
Sincerely,
BLACKPINK BLINK UNION— representing every BLINK in the world.
