We were honored to host His Majesty King Charles III in London and celebrate Apple’s work with the @KingsTrust. We were thrilled the incomparable Sir Elton John joined us for a moment at Apple Music Hall!
There are people who leave a mark on the world, and then there are people who change it entirely. Steve changed the world and so many lives in the process. He certainly changed my life forever. His spirit lives on in everything he created and everyone he inspired.
Steve Jobs got a standing ovation for admitting the whole industry was too scared to ship wireless.
1999, iBook just launched, 50,000 people at Macworld.
"We told them about Airport. They just lost it." Wireless existed for a decade - nobody shipped it. Dell blamed Windows, Microsoft called it low priority. "We're the last people who give a shit about making great computers."
7 profitable quarters, $200,000,000 last quarter. Most call that done. Jobs didn't. "I came here to make Apple great again."
He didn't come back to fix a balance sheet. He came back to make people lose it again.
When Tim Cook joined Apple, the company was on shaky ground.
"Michael Dell had made a comment weeks earlier that if he were the CEO of Apple, he would close it down and give the money back to shareholders. That it had no future. And he was just saying what everybody thought.
[But] they didn't know Steve [Jobs].
In that meeting, I concluded that all of those guys are wrong. They don't know him and they don't know his vision. They see things in the traditional way, which Steve never did."

He has served as CEO for 15 years, taking over shortly before the death of Steve Jobs.
