Those were the most innocent and carefree days of life—when we had no understanding of what rich or poor meant or what Hindu or Muslim meant! The only thing we knew was that we were schoolmates and friends, happily sharing each other’s tiffins!
No one had the faintest idea what he would become in the future! I remember a boy in my class who would come to school perfectly dressed at 9 am and by 11 all the buttons of his shirt would be torn after fighting with others but today he’s an Academician, teaching hundreds of students! Another fellow who managed to break half the furniture in LDP School, only for carpenter Mame Kallu to fix it again—is now a well known motivational speaker!
Perhaps the most beautiful part is that the bond among schoolmates still survives through a WhatsApp group! There everyone is exactly the same as they were in school—no one is an IAS or IPS officer, no one an industrialist! Those titles simply don’t matter in that group! They are still the same classmates, recalling teachers, revisiting old stories and reliving those simple days that quietly shaped our lives!
In that little group, time seems to have stood still!
