States like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Maharashtra pay higher stipends and train 10–12k+ interns, while J&K pays the lowest (₹12.3k) to 1.3k interns.

Medical interns in J&K are being paid a paltry stipend of 12300 every month. This despite the fact that a committee recommended it be increased to 26,350. Unfortunately even a year & a half later our medical interns are not at parity with their counterparts from other states. Request @CM_JnK @sakinaitoo to expedite these recommendations for a long overdue increased stipend.
